Bank account is not looking too bad and my pension goes in on Monday which covers quite a lot of the DDs. I have also dug out a thermos flask so I can empty the dregs of hot water from the kettle to use next time. This is mainly for DH who often leaves enough in it for my morning cuppa after he has made a late night coffee. He claims it isnt him but the evidence proves different. Having difficulty with setting up my new phone so have arranged a visit to DD & SiL tomorrow as they are far more tech savvy than me. It will be good to see them which I dont that often despite them living not far from me but they both work shifts and I am never sure when they are around and as they work late nights and early morning am reluctant to disturb them. It will be the first time I have seen them since youngest DGD moved out of home.Forgot to say earlier I have bought seeds for courgettes, cucumber and chard, I already have lettuce, tomatoes and spinach. I am a bit limited as everything has to go in pots as I dont have room for a veggie patch as not only is there the defunct trailer tent but we have a pond and rockery and need to have some room for the dogs.5

Lady holly - you do well juggling various pay days into your account. Good news on having a relatively healthy bank account so close to pension day.

Bank account not looking quite so healthy as I had to buy some dog food this morning. MrT didnt have the big sacks in stock so I risked not getting any. Silly idea because we wont have enough until shopping day on Tuesday so called in at MrS and got a small bag to tide us over. The only snag was that as I was on my way to DD it went for a bus ride with me. I am not allowed to drive due to eyesight problems which cant be corrected with glasses although I do wear them for close work.Lovely morning chatting with myDD and SiL. Home for lunch and then out with the dogs.3 loads of washing done but not much else. Tonight I have redeemed £25 from survey site. Has taken a while but I often forget to log in. When it arrives I think it will go to the loan but we will see at the time.Tomorrow I am cleaning the conservatory in the hope of warmer weather when we will use it. At the moment it is a bit of a store room so stuff will need to be moved.4

Which food do your dogs eat, mine is really fussy, I know you have a JRT like me?I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Our jrt and staffie x have Harrington's and our collie has 2/3 Harrington's and 1/3 vets kitchen sensitive. They have a spoonful of tinned chappie with their meals 5 days a week and sardines in tomato sauce twice a week instead of the tinned. They also have a carrot each every day
The collie has a funny tummy but the mix suits him fine.
They all have been pretty healthy until the Jack was diagnosed with heart and kidney failure but she is 15. I am going to change her food to rental food if she will eat it because of her kidney failure. She likes the harrington because the pieces are quite small.5 -

If you think your lurcher may have "dementia" it is worth talking to your vet as there are treatments available. They cant cure it but some of the symptoms can be relieved and you may get more time with your lurcher.

Yesterday DH decided he can smell urine in the conservatory ( one of the dogs does sometimes wee in the house and we have puppy pads on the floor to deal with this. She does normally use them but occasionally she doesnt so today I am cleaning the carpet in there. I know most people dont carpet their conservatories but we have laminate flooring and our Collie who tends to race around was sliding all over the place and we were concerned he would damage his legs . His front legs arent insured as he was limping badly the day after we brought him home from the rescue and before I had chance to insure him so a vet visit meant it was a pre existing condition. He has been fine since so it was probably just being able to have a good run after being in kennels for a while.Anyway we had some spare carpet from the lounge so we just put it down as a loose carpet.Nothing else planned for today except the usual dog walks.See I warned you all we lead a quiet (read that as boring) life. Money wise I sold another book yesterday and have bids on a couple ot items which end tomorrow and there are watchers on some others which may produce something.
I hope everyone has a good Saturday.5 -
My money comes in from all over the place on different dates. What I did was save until I was a month in advance then when I had enough for that I started putting all the payments in a "money in" account as thety appeared. I pay myself a monthly amount out of that account on the last day of the month. It stopped me from worrying about direct debit dates and it helps me to budget.5

Thanks cranky ( I love the name ). That's what I am trying to do but at the moment it's not going well because if there is any spare I am shoving it towards the loan because that's costing me money. I do have very small savings but I like to keep that because with 3 old dogs I am likely to have insurance excesses. I still owe the vet for the last lot but they don't seem in a hurry to ask for it so it is better in my account than theirs. We also have a 20year old car which although it flew through the MOT you never know. I will persist and will get there. My middle name is stubborn.
