Not a busy day today as I am still tired from yesterdays trip. Out for the first bus after 9am (the first I can use with my bus pass) which didnt appear so I stated to walk to the PO to post yesterdays ebay sale. As I was about half way the bus passed me about 10minutes late. Not a good start. Posted the parcel then a visit to supermarket for some onions and mushrooms. I saw the price of the our Collies secondary food which has gone up to 13.50 from 12.00. He is a nightmare to feed as so many things upset his stomach but he is on an even keel now so dont want to change. I have just checked the Mr T website and they sem to have it on a clubcard deal at £10.00 so guess where his next lot will come from.Listed a couple of the new books and will do more tomorrow. Usual dog walks and thats about it. Had a nice nap this pm which was much needed.Council tax bill arrived and its gone up by about £5.00 a month. I suppose it could have been worse but I am beginning to get really worried. our main bills other than the usual CT, water etc are the dog insurance at about £230 a month ( we cant change as all 3 have pre-existing conditions and all are getting older). and the loan at £155 a month. Cutting the food bill is the obvious first step but DH is so fussy it makes it really difficult.3

Result last night by email. My BiL trip in February was overcharged by 7.20 and pathetic response from GWR customer service insisted I returned to the ticket office I got the ticket which I did to find they couldnt do it and had to go to the main station in town where I got the refund. In the meantime I complained to the CEO and told him my tale of woe. Anyway I have received a reply at last offering me a full refund on my ticket. I cant decide whether to put it aside for Aprils visit or put it in tthe loan account. I will ponder on that onebut very pleased with the offer..

Thank SA
You can't win can you ? Great email last night. Tonights "joy" is one from pet*** telling me I owe another £20 on top of the almost £400 I still owe because the vets still haven't sent me the bill and because their accounts are done in the other branch mine doesn't have the information.
Other than that I have made 3 cottage pies today. 1 to eat and 2 to freeze.2 -
@ladyholly - Pet food prices are definitely on the rise. It's something we shop around for because while Wilk*'s used always to be the cheapest for our cats' preferred brand, it is currently cheaper in Waitr*se......& not by a few pence, either. Last time we checked, it was £2.50 cheaper on the 40 pouch box. I read a Guardian article a few weeks ago which listed some of the key categories where price rises are driving inflation & pet food was one of them.
Good for you on the cottage pie batch cooking.

Thank you Foxgloves, as if the dogs didnt cost enough now.Rather fed up this morning as I have realised that despite my grand 3.1% rise in both pensions I will now com into paying tax. It will only be a small amount but effectively either my pension will go down or at the very best not go up. I have not received notification for my NHS pension yet.Having said that a good ebay weekend assuming everyone pays. I have only had £14 so far so am really hoping the rest of the money arrives. It makes me really cross when people buy things and then fail to pay and dont even have the courtesy to get in touch to say they have changed their mind. I think part of the problem is ebay do nothing about non payers and you cant even leave negative feedback to warn other people.Off to the PO soon to post what has been paid for. 1 load of washing in the machine and another one to do when I get home. As its sunny here at the moment I might do something in the garden altough it is cold at present - frosty last night, I am hoping it will warm up a bit.Off to finish packing my parcels.2

Managed to send £40 to the loan account from the ebay sales but DH has just anounced the car needs a new rear blind. It is a camper and has electric blinds. £58 including carriage. It is a 2nd hand one as the car is non current and there are no new parts made for it. When it comes he will then have the fun of fitting it which judging by the swearing when he got the old one out may not be a simple job.We had the pleasure of our weekly trip to Mr T this afternoon and did get some of the collies sensitive food at the bargain price of £10 for 2 Kg. It does last a couple of weeks as he only has one third of his food as that and the rest ordinary food that the other 2 have. Any more than that and ****. I wont describe what happens. Suffice it to say it isnt pleasant. We also got clubcard deals on a couple of other items so the total was £41. That would have been great but I also spent 17.00 in Al** not to mention some in another of the well known supermarkets. With a DH as difficult to feed it is really hard to reduce the food bill. He doesnt like curry, chilli, pasta. or anything that doesnt look like meat and veg. His idea of a stew is beef, a small amount of onion and mushrooms - yep no carrot, swede, turnip etc. I can get away with adding a very small amount of pearl barley. He will rarely eat pastry as a meal (pasties for supper are ok but they have to be a certain brand), never touches cake, biscuits, preserves and such like. I wont go on as the list will become far too long but I will mention his breakfats every day is bacon and black pudding -also not cheap. If anyone has any isdeas let me know I have been trying for nearly 50years.Our little dog with heart and kidney failure wasn't too good last night coughing and coughing but she seems a bit better today and has only had one small cough. Generally she is still happy and will run around a little when out. Her breathing rate is still good so the meds are obviously working.Tomorrow we are actually leaving our town to go to our nearest garden centre to buy some fish food and a new tube for the pond filter. There is nowhere locally that sells food for pond fish. I will try to resist the other delight that they sell.3

I struggle to get pond fish food. A local shop sell it but are always running out. I got the last lot from Amazon.Aw to your little dog, bless her, I hope she continues to improve 🙏
Mr SA is a big meat eater, fortunately he only has toast for breakfast. One thing he does like that is cheap is stew made with minced beef topped with dumplings made from equal parts of SR flour and natural yoghurt with dried herbs and grated cheese mixed in.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
