Well done on paying off the loan, only a few more days until it’s gone 🥳I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

That's fantastic news about the loan, well done!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Brilliant achievement on paying off the loan so early. Your diary has recorded how hard you have worked to get rid of it.The final letter from the lender should arrive just in time for Bonfire Night2

Thank you all. Most of yesterdays washing was dry by this morning and the rest this afternoon so that is all put away. Had a good dust round upstairs and down but need to hoover tomorrow. The grass outside was cut yesterday by the council so the dogs are trampling it in.I have put all the stuff I brought back from my BiLs away until I can list it.We had the latest email from the little ones insurance - the last claim was over £600 and so we now owe about £130 when the payment reaches the vet. If I pay before they get the money it confuses them. One of the hazards of an old dog is that you have to pay part of the bill. If I had a young dog now I wouldnt have insurance but would pay into a separate account each month so the money was there when needed.Mr H isnt doing too well in that he seems to get less steady week by week and the colder, damp weather isnt helping him. He fell over again this morning and nearly went while we were out. It is heartbreaking to watch. On the whole he still seem to have a reasonable quality of life but if that goes we will have a very hard decision to make. The little one isnt eating a lot at the moment so I dont know how she is doing. The test results have all been ok but she is 16 now.Thats it for today. Have a good weekend.1

Pets getting older is so tough. You are right it is heartbreaking.
My oldest blackcat has "taken to his bed". He eats a little bit with great enthusiasm but is getting skinny. He seems content and pain free and so we are letting him inhabit a spare bedroom - complete with litter tray. He absolutely hates the vet so I hope that I don't have to put him through that ordeal.2 -
Mr H seems a bit better today but the weather has been warmer dry. This seems to make quite a difference to him. I have hoovered today and cleaned the conservatory carpet. We have the carpet in there so the dogs dont skid across the laminate which could be the end of Mr H. He has trouble on the kitche. floor especially if he has been lying a while. The cover from the settee has been washed aand dried as the little one leaked. It doesnt happen often and she doesnt realise she has done it. Fortunatelythe settee is leather. Usual dog walk and as a treat and celebration for the loan being paid off this week we had a roast beef dinner with a bottle of Cava.I have noticed that despite weeding the patio and gravel not long ago there are alredy weeds growing so I poured a kettle of boiling water over them.Still no heating on but I am shutting the outsied doors mid morning once the dogs have settled a bit. This was something I couldnt do last year as Miss W never learned to ask to go out. It wasnt much fun in the cold weather.Thats enough rambling for a Sunday. Wishing all a good week to come.2

Did Aldi shop this morning - only £8 but most of the shopping will be tomorrow. I wouldnt have gone today but needed carrots for the dogs. Also a couple of sales, one is paid the other should be paid later assuming my buyer heeps their word. Not much else done this morning as very breathless and feeling a bit wobbly. This afternoon had covid and flu jabs which took much longer than it should as their I Pad wouldnt play so they had resorted to pen and paper but its done. Feeling ok at the moment but flu jab arm slightly sore. See how I feel in the morning. The bank is showing our last loan payment as £1 less than usual. I dont know if there will be any interest to pay, we will find out by next Monday or Tuesday.I am starting to look at the best place to put the money that has been going to the loan as I dont want it being frittered away. I will keep some of it to help with rising prices but most will be saved. Any thoughts welcome. I did note that spreadable butter had one up 10p but at £2.25 it is still a lot cheaper that the branded versions. It is somewhat softer but just about acceptable and at least it is very easy to spread.Well thats my day and lookiing forward to bed.1

Just a quick afterthought. With all the financial chaos and rising prices in the country I am so relieved that the removal of the bankers bonus cap is going ahead. I was really worried they wouldn't be able to cope on their meagre incomes. Yes I am being sarcastic.

Didnt write yesterday as I was not feeling at my best, the after effects of vaccines I think. Much better today except still tired.I have paid the first £10 from ebay into my savings account today. The final loan payment leaves the bank account tomorrow. The shopping was a bit less than usual but then I didnt buy a huge amount. It certainly wasnt beccause the prices are less. No spending today as I havent been anywhere or done anything for that matter.I am at the eye hospital tomorrow which wont cost anything as I can use my bus pass and the hospital is very near the bus station.I am not going to make any comment on the government as I dont think I casn say much without using bad language. Not an exciting day but thats it for now. Have a good evening.1

Really good that you are now funding your savings rather than paying off the loan.
