The final loan payment has left our bank account although not showing on the loan account yet , it usually takes a couple of days. i read the gas and electric meter a couple of days ago but strangely I havent had the acknowledgement although when I log in in does show the readings. Odd because it usually comes in the same day and the bill 2 days later. The hospital today was very busy. I think they are back to running full clinics. I finally saw the Dr an hour after my appointment time. Then I had to sit on those stupid fold down seats on the but which I find very uncomfortable but at least I had a seat. When I got off the bus from the city I was lucky in that the local bus was stilll there (last one at 5.15pm). No money spent today again. We have broken the no heating but according to Mr L it was for Mr H as being arthriticy and very wet from his walk he needed it so he dodnt get old. Shame he sat in the cool kitchen!Hoovering done this morning and Mr L has managed to step in dog mess and tramp it on the lounge carpet so that has been cleaned as well. Glad to have a quiet night tonight.I hope others have as well.2

Checked the bank this morning and our loan account reads £1.05 in credit. Instead of taking what we owed they have taken the full amount. I will wait a couple of days to see if they repay it or whether I have to phone them which will involve loads of silly quetions to ebsure its me. I hate ringing the bank.I have said before we only have a pavement in front of the houses here, no road with a grassy area in the middle (there is a road on the far side that is a cul de sac). Anyway a fibre company is installing cables and have managed to cut a cable on the side that is at right angles to us. They and BT have spent over a fortnight arguing who has to repair it meanwhile none of the houses have internet and some have no landline either. Not good when many of the resident on that side are quite elderly. They have now started on the other side also at right angles to us but instead of digging up the path they have dug a trench along the edge of the grass. They have filled in part of it but obviously the grass has not gone back well so I think for the winter the edge of the green is going to be a mud bath for everyones dogs and children. The carpet cleaner will get a lot of use.I had a call from the volunteer driver making arrangements for the pick up for my eye operation next week so that is sorted.Still no heating (except for Mr H yesterday) and it is actually not cold at all but has been raining on and off all day so is miserable. The little one has hardly been out. No spending today. Only washed up twice and used the veg water from tea to make gravy.Off to do some bits and catch up on diaries and then at 9pm detectorists.Have a good evening.1

Final loan payment!! Fantastic news! Squirrelling all those little bits & bobs into the loan account along the way will definitely have hastened its end.

Very spendy few days on groceries but not sure why. I must have a look at the receipts. I did but a pair of slippers at Sainsbury which were pricey as I suddenly realised that the hospital want me to take a pair tomorrow when I go for my op (or procedure) as they call it in the texts they keep sending me in case I forget. Forgetting in unlikely in view of the 3 year wait. I am somewhat nervous as the doctor said the anaesthetic will sting a bit which says to me it will hurt like anything. The bank is being a pain and wont let me close the loan account on line but as I havent had the letters for the last overpaymdnts I assume they havent caught up yet and yes they still have my £1.05. I will start charging ineterest soon. The little one ha been back to the vet this afternoon and the news isnt good. She has chronic pancreatitis (no symptoms until the last few days but she has lost 0.6kg in the last couple of weeks and she now only weighs 7kg down from just over 8 in April)) and this may be indicative of her having cancer. It can only be diagnosed by scan but at 16 years old we would not treat her in any way for it (the vet is in agreement with this) so knowing or not knowing makes no difference to her treatment. Her kidneys have also deteriorated since her last blood test 2 weeks ago. On the bright side her heart is doing well. In view of the pancreatitis she will have to have special food which is very expensive (about £50 for 12 cans she is off kibble). I have to pick some cans up from the vet tomorrow and then I will investigate to find a cheaper source. ( the £50 is the rough on line price but I wont know for sure until I see exactly what the vet is recommending.) This will be for the rest of her life.£30 out tomorrow for the volunteer driver to take me to the hospital and Mr L will pick me up.I think thats enough doom and gloom for tonight. Have a peaceful one.2

My cousin’s dog has just been diagnosed with pancreatitis and kidney problems but is doing well. The expensive food didn’t suit her and she’s ended up on Chappie which does.
I hope all goes well at the hospital today.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -
I hope the "procedure" has gone well.
sorry to hear about little one - you certainly care for her very well.2
