Evening all
I was going to defrost the freezer this morng but it ocorred to me an iced up freezer would hold the temperature better when the power is off tomorrow for the electrician to do his work. He is changing our ancient fuse box while he is here so it could take some time.
The start of the rubbish from he junk (sorry hobby) room is now at the tip. I think Mr LH is shocked at how much he has got up there. It is going to take some time.
Wall tiles have been collected and are in the back of the car at the moment. Hopefully I will get some time before Friday to start putting the kitchen back together and clear some space in the conservatory for them.
We had a panic earlier when Mr LH couldnt find the mover for the caravan and then found the car wouldnt lock. He had put the mover in the caravan wardrobe which was very silly as when it is folded he wouldnt have access to it. The car wouldnt lock as the boot hadnt been closed properly. Both things were entirely him so I could sit back and watch him panic.😁
The last instalment of the kitchen has been paid but there wil still be the electrician, tiler and flooring man to pay. Then there will be bills for the canopy over the front door and the garage wall repointing. It is quite scary the amount that is leaving the accounts although it is there and no borrowing required. Thank you to my BiL.
Thats it for today so have a good evening.

@ladyholly what excellent updates to read. the upheaval is a lot to deal with (don't ask me about an over-run timeline of renovating a house and living with in-laws for 3+ years!!!), but how good it will be when you can sit with a brewed cuppa and look round your new kitchen and grin.

Morning all
Just a quick one before dragging Mr LH out of bed for the tiler coming later. The main part of the kitchen is finished, just the wall tiles today and the flooring some time next week. Most of the kitchen contents are in their places. Some things I will have to move again for the tiler to do his bit e.g. the kettle and tea/coffee stuff but that isnt too much.
The builder who was supposed to be here yesterday didnt turn up but . Apparently his Dad in ill. I am not sure I believe that but we will see if he remakes the appointment in the near future.
A small grocery shop done and I have ordered the insert for the grill pan as apparently the manufacturers see that as an optional extra.
Hopefully by the end of the weekend the conservatory will be back to being a room not a storage facility.
I have defrosted the frezzer at last. I dont think I have ever seen it so iced up.
As part of changing the fuse box for a modern one all our electric circuits have been checked so that is a good job done and we will get a certificate in due course.
I am getting to grips with the new oven and hob. It seems to be over complicated but I am sure I will get used to it in time. I have wrned Mr LH he may get odd meals in the short term.
One thing I havent mentioned is that my walks have continued although sometimes cut short short due to a lack of time in the mornings while we are having workmen in every day. Why do they all start at 8am?
Anyway thats enough drivel for now. Have a good day.

My current oven manufacturer felt the (detachable) grill pan handle was an optional extra !

I'm glad you are getting there with the kitchen. Will be lovely to have it as you want.

A few years ago my then long term boilerman changed his normal hours from crack of dawn until 3pm to a more normal working day. It seems that when his kids were little he had worked long hours & his wife didn't then once they were in school he started very early & finished early & did the after school shift whilst she did the before school & worked a full day too.
