Evening all
The scary thing with the electrics is that we have lived here for over 20 years. The kitchen is progressing and I think the fitter will finish tomorrow so either him or me will try to find out when the electrician will come to connect everything. At the moment we only have one working socket which is on a flying cable for the fitter and I dont feel comfortable using it. The oven is in place and a lot of the detail work is done. The unit doors have been delivered and will hopefully be fitted tomorrow. The sink is connected and I got excited thinking I could wash up in the kitchen but the water has been turned off again😪 so back to a tiny sink in the caravan.
In other news our internet went down last week which involved a long live chat with our provider. We got it back and the next day it went again so ended up paying £75 for an engineer to tell us the router is broken. It has been replaced and all seems ok now. Due to the long live chat conversation I have run out of data on my phone. I could increase it but it renews on Saturday so doesnt seem worth it.
Not much else happening but I am really looking forward to the peace at the weekend not to mention having to be up early.
This evening Mr LH had a ready cottage pie which he complained wasnt very nice. Strange he had one earlier this week exactly the same (even bought at the same time) which he said was ok.😮😫. I give up. I have told him fish and chips tomorrow.
Thats enough from me for now. Have a good evening.

I’ve said this before but I can’t believe how alike Mr LH and Mr SA are 😬 Mr SA won’t improvise and expects business as usual no matter what is going on.

Really good to see you back and well, I've been wondering and hoping all was okay! Brilliant news you're getting the kitchen etc done, and have designed it to be more suitable for your needs 😊 Good to hear Mr LH is well too, even if he is being a pain in the backside! If there's any money left from the inheritance maybe you could get yourself a laptop or tablet so you can both use the internet whenever you like?

Many thanks for all your kind comments.
The fitter has now finished so I have cupboards that I can fill. They are not the same configuration as before so I will take my time working out where stuff will go and it could move once or twice as I get use to it. The electrician is here on Tuesday. Unfortunately he has a day off on Monday but that will give us 3 days of peace which we will appreciate.
Mr LH has worked out how I can use the washing machine so starting to catch up is a job for tomorrow.
This evening I have used the new sink to wash up which has been a lot easier. The only disadvantage is that things are now in 3 places but it will only be for a few days.
Fish and chio tea which stopped MR LH moaning about ready meals. I will have to pop out tomorrow to get a couple more to cover Monday and Sunday and a possible one for Tuesday which I will eat at a later date if not used just in case the electrician doesnt finish on Tuesday.
Nothing else for tonight so I hope you have a good evening.

Today has been spent trying to put things back in the kitchen. It all has to be washed first so is taking a while. I think it will be at least a week until everything is away. At least two days will be out for the tiler and the electrician so it will no doubt run into the following week. I can only use the top cupboards at present as the electrician needs access to the some of the bottom ones.
I have caught up with the clothes washing so am no longer panicking I will run out of clean undies.
A small shop done this morning and also bought a worktop saver. I used to have one but after I broke it I decided the old worktops weren't worth saving. The new ones are.
The bill paid for the kitchen fitter which arrived yesterday. Some moving round of other money to get the maximum interest.
I am now very tired so not much will be done this evening other than washing up after our Mr S Chinese takeaway. It is nice not to have to take all the washing up down the garden and using the tiny sink. The dinner plates dont even fit in in. I will be even more glad to have the dishwasher back. Yes I know its a luxury but one I appreciate.
Thats me for now. Have a good evening.

A few years ago we had a new kitchen, bathroom, boiler and central heating system all at the same time. It was awful at the time but so worth it in the end. I always say the lowest point was the night we literally just had a toilet in the middle of the bathroom and had to flush it with a bucket of water.

I well remember being on my knees washing up in the new bath trying not to scratch it before we'd even had a bath in it. So very glad to get a working kitchen sink again

My next want is my fridge back. At the moment the milk is in the mini fridge in the conservatory so every time I make a hot drink I have to walk to get it. OK it is only half a dozen steps each way but by the evening with my energy level it is hard work. My fridge usually lives unde the work top with the kettle on it. I know I am getting fussy but really looking forward to it being done.
SA that was very brave to have all that work done at once. I would have trouble coping and Mr LH would leave home I think.
The funniest thing with the kitchen is the electrician not finishing his work in the one day allowed and him having to dodge the plasterers who were here as well. Our kitchen is small so it must have been cosy to say the least.
I have moved the the chair and coffee table back into the conservatory from the living room. They were moved to make room for the washing machine and dishwasher. I havent put anything else away in the kitchen because I think it will work better if I wait until I have access to the bottom cupboards as well as the top so it has been a more relaxing day.
The best thing today is Mr LH has started to clear his junk room. I havent even mentioned it so am a bit startled to say the least. I dont think he will finish the job but even a little will help. I think it may have dawned on him the window people will need to get to his window which they certainly can't at present. He is more keen on having the windows done as we will need the door opening the other way round and into the conservatory as the oven is behind it at the moment.
I have spent some time reading the oven instructions and am now feeling a bit overwhelmed as it seems very complicated. It probably isnt but will take a bit of getting used to
I think thats my day today. Tomorrow is a tip run and collecting the wall tiles for the kitchen.
Have a good evening.

Great news that Mr LH has made a start on the junk room
