Lh is mr lh a visual sort of person ? I know you don't get very far trying to talk to him about clearing his stuff away.
Im wondering if you could sketch out your property, garden and garage then you could colour or shade all the areas - rooms and part rooms - he is using (or storing things in that mean nobody can use it), another colour for the common areas like kitchen bathroom bedroom hallways and a third for any area you have exclusive use of. If seeing visually the areas, from a birds eye view, just looking at the cold hard facts of square footage area (not at all his stuff and treasures which would naturally evoke a more emotional response) would that help him see he's being unfair and taking more than his fair share of the available space?
Would it also help to use the square footage and apply that to any future houses to get you both thinking about how reasonable it is to move to available properties. How much would need to be cleared and how much you could take with you?

Perhaps a house move might be the much-needed catalyst for Mr LH to clear out his hoardings. Coincidentally, I told Mr F last week when he was decluttering that although it will be a few years till we move house, we won't be booking 2 removal vans so he needs to bear that in mind!

Evening allI mentioned clearing out Mr LHs supposed work room yesterday and got my head bitten off so will have to be patient. He has removed another 3 or 4 items from the garage in the last couple of days but it is apparently too hot to do it at the moment. There isnt much more to go but he has said he want to go through everything before it goes back in the garage whenever that will be..I have increased the standing order to our savings account taking into account that we will no longer be paying pet insurance so it doesnt get frittered..Not much done today as I had a dreadful night waking at 2am and not getting back to sleep properly just drowsing between 5 and 6.30am.Had a slightly longer walk this morning and will go out again shortly once it has cooled a bit more.I am now the proud owner of a brand new bath mat after the old one literally fell apart in the wash.It wasnt the cheapest but is much better quality so hopefully will last longer.A small sale today which I will post in the morning and now have bids on 2 items. 3 more items listed for next week.No cooking tonight as Mr LH only wanted a sandwich. He isnt eating much at the moment.A friend called earlier this week told me that apparently you should only give toddlers half a cup of milk at night because it will make them fat. We talked about this and came to the conclusion that more likely a lack of exercise, fast food, too many high calorie snacks and convenience foods were more likely to do that than a full cup of milk. From what I have observed young children do seem to get a lot of snacks. If I was hungry between meals I was told to have an apple. If I said I didnt want that then was told I obviously wasnt hungry. On rare occasions I was allowed a slice of bread and jam. That is my wisdom (or not) for the day.Have a good evening.

I saw a FB post of a photo of a group of people taken in the 70s. Someone remarked how slim everyone was which made me think you rarely saw anyone overweight in those days. When I was at school in the 70s there were maybe one or two really overweight people. This was before the advent of fast/convenience food and I think that says it all.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Have to say I am horrified by the amount of very young children who are overweight. I mean I’m overweight but I am in my 60’s!I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. If you look at the foods that are designed for children them being overweight would be no surprise. Absolutely loaded with sugar. Then they get so used to all that sugar it is hard to break away from.2

And health visitors are worrried about children having a full cup of milk before bed. Wrong thinking somewhere.1

Evening allThank you for your comments about overweight children. I am very overweight (trying to lose some of it) but what is happening to the health of children and what is anyone doing about it? I do note that nearly all special offers in the sm are for processed foods, there are no TV ads for fresh foods. It is very worrying.A very unproductive day other than going to post my parcel and getting some Cava for Mr LHs birthday tomorrow. I have brought a couple of items in from the garage as I was in there anyway and if you cant beat him join him. There isnt much more to empty thank goodness.Garden partially watered despite a heavy shower this morning. My task for tomorrow is emptying the shed and only putting back what I will need/ use.Usual walks. I have ordered a step counter. I consideredd a smart wart watch but that seemed to be spending a fair bit of money for functions I dont need so for a fiver it seemed a good deal. At the moment I have no idea how far I walk in a day and think it might be useful to know to see if I can improve over tine.Have a good evening.1

I have had a fitbit for years & have discovered that I can use it to tell me if my thyroid is going out of the norm. I mean who knew that. Well I certainly didn't & my resting heart rate drops quite a bit if my thyroid becomes undermedicated. The wonders of modern technology!!2
