Bizarrely I’ve seen an old bloke with very reduced mobility and sticks near us ‘walking’ his dog each day, bless him he only goes about 300 yds but he manages it twice a day. Luckily it’s a small dog so happy with it. People have offered to help but it gives him something to get out for.Sealed pot challenge 822

I really hope the house saga is over soon!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Evening allMy main problem with getting another dog isnt so much walking it although it would need to walk alongside the scooter but not having anyone who would be able to build a relationship with the dog and being able to take it in the event of our death. As we would only consider an older rescue it wouldnt be fair to have to suddenly rehome it again and finding homes for old dogs is not easy. I would hate any of ours to get trapped in kennels. Yes I know there are are rescues that specialise in older dogs but its still not easy.I do know an elderly lady with heart failure who has a lovely little Jack Russell x but her son will take him if anything happens to her. My dd isnt interested and has a cat and is getting a kitten soon.Bed changed and bedding is being washed as I write plus a load of towels which have dried and been put away. A few items ironed.1 listing done. I am not enthusiatic at the moment.I have been considering going for milk all day but havent so will probably get wet going in the morning. It has been dry here today but to be honest I couldnt be bothered and having owned dogs for years getting wet doent really bother me.The latest batch of weeds on the path, patio etc given the vinegar treatment and I have brushed the edges of the drive. I cant do the middle as the car is there but at least it looks a bit better.Nothing from the garage has landed in the conservatory today . Hooray.I had a decent (for me) length walk this morning and will go out again very soon.Have a good evening.5

Evening allWe went for a walk today to find an old apple tree on what was an orchard (where we walked Bear) had come down. A few year ago the local teenagers tried to burn it down and it was hollow most of the way up and down the trunk. It still produced loads of apples unti this year when only part of it had leaves and apples. Now it has fallen about 6foot up the trunk. It was really sad to see it as the trees here are very old. It may sound silly but it made us wonder if it was a sign we should move after watching it for so many years.3 parcels posted and bids on two items, one of which ends tomorrow.I banged my toe on the edge of the shower this morning and lookes down to find blood heading towards the drain hole. It is a bit sore but I put a plaster on it and hoped for the best. I will find out if that was enough when I go to bed.Forgot to pick up my prescription today so will have to out in the morning.Have a good evening.2

Seeing that as a sign that you should move doesn’t sound silly at all. How would Mr LH cope with a house move?If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters1

Signs are there to be seen and interpreted according to one's needs. Where would you both like to go?
Hope the toe is okay today1 -

Hope the toe is okay todayWe would stay local to where we are now. There are some houses very near us that we would love. Unfortunately they very rarely come up for sale and tend to pass down families. I think a bungalow would be better but there are many round here that are big enough. We like to spread or at least Mr LH does. He has 2 bedrooms plus stuff all over the rest of the house. I sometimes feel I am being squeezed out.My toe doesnt feel too bad today thank you.4 -
Evening allA small amount of shopping done plus prscription collected. Some time in the garden and conservatory windows cleaned outside.Bank account checked and some money moved as needed. We had a nice walk this afternoon and actually saw some dogs which we could tickle. There has been a complete absence of them since Bear went. I think many people are avoiding the area due to the travellers and the disgusting mess they left behind in the bushes.Mr LH is talking about not going to the next festival but I am trying to persuade him to go as hiding away isnt going to do him any good at all. It is in mid August so I have a little while to change his mind.Have a good evening6

Hope you manage to convince Mr LH to go to the festival.
I feel your pain on the stuff everywhere and feeling squeezed out!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2
