    Evening all

A very annoying day in some ways. I had a list of questions from buyers solicitor. Most of which I have already answered, Very consued by some of them and an especially annoying one about the solar panels feed in tariff. After spending ages on the phone and navigating BG telephone system I eventually reached the correct person who woudnt tell me what I wanted to know. They want the solicitor to ask them by email. Not amused because I had already given them all the information they want. I also had to get in touch with the water company to confirm something but after 30mins I gave up and decided to try them tomorrow morning but then had a bright idea and texted his neighbour to see if he knew and he did so that saves a job for tomorrow. There was also stuff I had to check on so that has taken a good proportion of the day.

On the good side. I have sorted the house insurance for bils house.

Bear has been a good boy today.

The main shop is done but I will have to go elsewhere to get a few remaining items that were out of stock later in the week.

Nothing else done due to filling in form.

Going to take Bear out shortly and then read my book.

    Have a good evening

Good news about the insurance and that Bear has been good. I thought of you as a neighbour has recently adopted a dog from Greece after losing both her sheepdog and then her partner very suddenly. The new dog is very nervous and it looks like she’ll have her hands full for a while.

I wish I did have patience. You did hear the loud rant earlier. Not pretty. I blame being a redhead or at least I was.

Patience patience and more patience is the key plus not trying to force the dog to do anything. See I can have patience just not with jobsworths.

    Evening all.

A very long day after being disturbed by the weather about 4am. Then a loud banging started and woke Mr LH who said it was the meter cuboard door rattling. It wasnt as I found after taking Bear for an early walk as he was restless it had actually come open and was banging against the wall. We locked it and had a cup of tea. Nr LH went back to bed but by that time it was almost 6am so a bit late to return to bed so took Bear out for a proper walk.

Took the stuff for the solicitor to the PO and sent it special delivery as I wanted to make sure it got there before Easter then a walk to the next bus stop where there is a handy wall to sit on. The nearest one has nowhere to rest and standing for about 20 minutes is a definite no no.

Lounge and conservatory hoovered and a load of washing done but thats about my lot for the day.

    Have a good evening

I've worked my way through your diary ladyholly, what a lot you've had to deal with.  Well done persevering with lovely bear.  Weve taken on elderly rescues too. I hope you don't need another any time soon but just in case....oldies club only deal with dogs 8 and over.

I wondered if you've considered an air fryer?  I well remember cleaning a deep fat fryer!  Never again!  We bought a cheap one from lidl and got one from friends who were breaking up a family member's house.  Dont know how much that one was, its a bit fancier than our basic one, but there's little to choose between them in my opinion.  Mr d has chips for himself rustled up from a potato to plate in under 25 mins with less cleaning than a deep fat fryer.

Hello daisy_1571 Thank you for visiting my largely boring diary. We do know the oldies club but I think Bear will be ourr last dog as I am in my early 70s with mobility problems and Mr LH is middle 70s unless of course we find one that is on its last legs but even then I think it would be very hard on Mr LH to lose a dog very quickly after we got it. We only had Bear predecessor for a couple of month before we had to return him to the rescue a he was showing worrying signs of agression to Mr LH and that nearly destroyed him.

We used to work with a small local rescue and we took the difficult dogs on foster until they were ready for re homing so we were prepared for Bear but he has been a lot harder than we expected. I think mainly due to be shunted around in Bosnian rescues, then brought to the UK where he was in kennels for a short time before being rehomed with little or no training to first time dog owners. They described him as feral when they got him and they did a very good job with him but he became too much for them and rehomed him to us via his original rescue. With all the change he took a long time to trust us and although he is very good in the house he can be very difficult outside as he is very vigilant to what is going on around him and will not listen or even look at us.

The last year has been one of the most stressful of my life with all the hassles with ny bils estate although hopefully we are making very slow progress.

I have thought of an air fryer but they all seem to be quite big and we have a small kitchen with minimal worktop space so will continue with the deep fat fryer even with having to clean it regularly. The bowl on my latest one can go into the dishwasher which is helpful.

    Have good day.

our lidl one is a salter, 3.2litre.  We can do chips for us both, fish fingers, probably 4 rashers of bacon till they curl up a bit then can get more on, probably half a dozen fish fingers,  2 bits of fish/chicken etc.  The bigger one is useful for maybe 6 rashers of bacon etc.  I always recommend taking shelves out the oven and store air fryer in there as you'll likely be using one or other
