Evening allOut early to buy crisps for Mr LH which I forgot yesterday. He has an afternoon crisp habit. He was up when I got back about 9.30 so nothing sensible got done but took Bear to the secure field for his run late morning. He is starting to come back occasionally when called but I am convinced that if we let him do it in our area he would ignore us calling him. He is very strong willed - too much terrier in him. He had a good time anyway and has slept most of the afternoon. He comes perfectly when in the house and garden.I spent some time in the garden potting up tomatoes to give to a friend tomorrow and then generally tidying up out there.Cleaned some paintwork upstairs which it badly needed.I have checked the boiler instructions and it does have an expasion vessel but having explained it all to Mr LH he is still not happy so going to call a gas engineer tomorrow to service the boiler which it needs anyway and check with him/her. That should reassure him.I emailed the land agent and now feel a bit guilty as he is off work after an operation at the weekend so apologised profusely and wished him a good recovery. However he has said the dig was fine, Southern Water are happy so the developers just need to get the final plans approved by them. They are howwever going ahead with fencing the land and putting up gates so they must be pretty confident. I will believe it when I sign the final paperwork. Still nothing re the house so I will start nagging them in the next day or two.First of the new higher bills paid. Council tax, the water doesnt start until May.Have a good evening.4

My council's part of some national trials collecting soft plastics, but not where I am sadly, though everywhere will have to do it in two years time. It's mostly all that is in our rubbish bin now. I don't go to the supermarket very often, so don't save it up to take it there.
I hope you get some good news on the house soon."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
Evening allI have found a gas engineer to come and service the boiler next week. My first company wanted to charge me £199 for the service plus a call out fee of £45 and that was pensioner rate. Funnily enough they could do it this afternoon but I said thank you but no thank you although perhaps not quite so politely. I then messaged a couple of other companies and they have both got back to me. One was £90 and the other £65. I have gone with the cheaper one and see how he does. He is booked in for next Wednesday. If he is ok he may well get the bathroom job if and when.....Surprisingly Bear was pretty good on his walk at lunchtime. he is usually difficult the day after he goes to the secure field so pleased with him. We did meet a labrador at the corner of our sqare this morning and he was not too bad then either,Out to tesco for the main shop but I dont know why we bother as they were out of several items we needed. They werent even unusual things. I did comment to the cashier about their stock control being very poor and he agreed. I have known him for years so we always have a short chat. A Sainsbury/ Aldi trip is in my future to get the things I need.I have sprayed all the paths and gravel today with home made weed killer. There werent to many as yet but I know if I dont keep them in check now they will run rampant as the weather gets warmer.Hoovered the lounge and removed all the hair from the roller afterwards. The baby toatoes seem to be doing ok wrapped up in the mini greenhouse despite it still being cold at night.Thats Wednesday mostly done. Have a good evening.4

Evening allI had a phone call from my gp today but missed the call so rang them back to find I was 8 in the queue. Hung on and it was actually just under half an hour so not too bad. Anyway they have done my medical records and I have to collect them tomorrow. You may remember I applied for a blue badge ages ago but they wanted the records and I only got around to emailing them a couple of weeks ago. Anyway its done so I just have to send them in hoping they still have my form on record. I dont think I stand a chance but it will stop my friend from nagging me. Strangely she popped round today and asked if I had done it.I also emailed the estate agent to ask her to chase my supposed buyer. If I dont hear anything by Monday I will be asking the land agent if he thinks the delopment land developer would be interested as it adjoins the land they are buying. I am fed up with being messed about.Plant babies watered and my courgette seeds are poking their heads up but strangely only the yellow ones. No sign of the green ones. Spinach is sprouting in the garden and the chard I planted last spring is still producing well. The nights appear to be getting less cold and the tomatoes still seem ok in my mini greenhouse so might try a couple of the courgettes in there.I didnt do an exercise routine yesterday as I was ina lot of pain but I have found a gentler one for now and all has been ok. While I am the doctor tomorrow I am going to ask if its possible to see their physio for some advice on the best way to go with trying to improve my flexibilty. I dont want to caise any damage or at least more than there already is.Laundry put away. Bank account checked. My younger dgd has won £1000 on premium bonds so she is very happy.Bear was very badly behaved today - making up for being good yesterday I think.Got to make a list of tomorrows jobs now.Have a good evening.4

Lovely win for DGD!
I hope you get some answers for the house, it seems to have been going on forever! You deserve it to all come to an end."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
Evening allThanks jwil and dawnybabes. She was very pleased. The house saga continues with no action. The estate agent I have been dealing with is away next week but has spoken to her boss and he will see what he can find out. I am not convinced that will happen so will be writing to the MD monday as I just want to know what is happening. Actually I know what is happening - absolutely nothing. I cant believe the estate agents arent chasing the buyer ( what am I paying them for?) and I cant believe the buyer is so rude as to be completely silent.Onto my very unproductive day. Medical records collected.I tried to buy couple of summer tops but as the till wasnt recognising the first one was in the bagging area I left. What a shame when there are no staff around to help customers. Still it saved me some money for now. I will try Sainsbury in the morning.I did manage to buy 4 geranium plants to replace the ones I lost over the winter and will plant them tomorrow all being well. My courgettes are still waiting to be repotted.A friend visited for a coffee to let us know his bil has died and his dil is terminal and likely to die within 3 months. Very sad as she has two young children. I also met an aquaintance whilst out and about whose husband has terminal cancer. It has been a lousy day.I have done a couple of ebay photos and will try to get some more done tomorrow.Bear was much better behaved today and for the first time ever he walked past a friends black lab with all of us on a fairly narrow pavement. We usually turn around and go the other way or wait on the grass until they have passed. Lots of praise given even though he did try to lunge at the other dog a little but stopped when told.Have a good evening1
