He isn't going to do anything about the car until Monday. It has to go to a specialist garage and they won't be open today.

As an update on the house there was someone trying to kick the front door in at 2am this morning until they saw Mr LH standing watching him. Too dark for a description worse luck.

Oh no the absolute 🤬 I bet you can’t wait until the house is finally off your hands and you can put this unfortunate episode behind you. My thoughts are with you.

What an absolute SH 1 T. I wonder if it was the same individual or another chancer. I'm just so hoping the house will soon be off your hands because it is becoming such a worry & cause of stress. And honestly, didn't the car just pick its moment?! Sending positive thoughts.

    Evening all
It just shows all I know. He had a mechanic out this morning from the rescue company. The alternator is dead so he will ring his chosen garage in our big city and arrange with them and the rescue to flat bed it there.

The police and socco have been out to see him and left some door alarms etc. if anything happens tonight he is to phone 999.

Bils neighbour has a camera on the side of his house and he can hear a group of noisy/drunk lads for about an hour and a half before they tried to kick the door in.  The police are going to visit him to get the footage.

I must say the Hampshire police have been superb. Whether this is their normal response or because they know the neighbour I don't know.

On our house scene the bedroom and bathroom has been cleaned  and the lounge carpet has been cleaned. As expected the water in the cleaner was disgusting but as there was a fair bit of dog hair in it I am blaming that. I will have another go at it tomorrow and do the conservatory and bedroom as well. 4 loads of washing done as I have done sheets, bedspread and one load of clothes. Another load to do tomorrow.

Bear has been out for his usual walks and will be out for his bedtime one soon.
     Have a good evening.

So pleased you've had a decent response from the police again. What a scary thing to happen, is Mr LH feeling okay? Must say I do rather like the thought of some tw*t swearing off a life a crime cos he got the collywobbles when he saw a solitary figure staring at him from the shadows of the abandoned house in the dead of night
Well done on all the cleaning and Bear walking!

I am afraid it has caused Mr LHs mental health to plummet again. He is hardly eating which is never a good sign but he is talking to me and he will be able to have a chat with neighbour this afternoon when he gets home from his weekend away. I dont like him being on his own but it simply wasnt practical for me to go down there wih Bear. I will be glad to see him home.

I must admit I hadnt thought of he saw a solitary figure staring at him from the shadows of the abandoned house in the dead of night . It does make it sound very spooky. Its a shame it wasnt halloween.

I'm glad you are getting a good response from the police.

I’d imagine they’d have ran quickly away from Bear.

I’m not surprised his MH isn’t great there - I’d have been petrified. Hope he’s home soon so you can sort him out.

Sorry to hear of the issues at BILs, hoping this chapter comes to an end very soon . Also that Mr LH is home soon .

    Evening all

Poor Mr LH he is not sleeping at all. The floor is not comfortable and he is hardly eating. He is coming home by train on Tuesday after the car is loaded to come back to the garage. I will be very glad when he is home

The neighbour is getting some cameras to put up at the front and back of the house and will install them for us. They will alert him if anyone tries anything

This break in is costing us a small fortune one way or another and we don't know how much the car will be yet. The only consolation is it proves how essential an emergency fund is so no credit card bill. It is going to take some work to recover that though.

In our house the carpets are cleaned, the under stairs cupboard sorted and a load of washing done. Nothing else as I have been watching Crufts all afternoon. Obviously Bear has been out for his usual walks but has spent a lot of time watching for Mr LH. He is missing him a lot as he is here virtually all the time. He will be glad to see him home too.

Just going to wash up and then settle down to watch the last bit of Crufts.

    Have a good evening.
