badmemory  I have tried that but my gps system always counts 28 days from the previous date the prescription was due so I have never been able to get a surplus. I have several times asked them to give me a few days grace but it seems to be beyond their ability.

Sun_Addict I am certainly not a proffessional lister but people think I have lots of time - which is true. I dont enjoy doing it but I know her partner has been off work sick for several weeks and money is very tight as he only gets statutory sick pay and she is unable to work. Even so yes they do insist I get some of the proceeds even though I tell them its not necessary.

It's very kind of you to list for your friend.

    Evening all

It's been a horrible afternoon. At lunch time bills neighbour rang to tell me the house has been broken into. Two windows broken, the back door jammed, the alarm panel which has been disconnected for ages ripped from the wall and some other stuff damaged.

We have spent the afternoon getting Mr LH ready to go down there for a few days. Of course the house is completely empty so he will have to camp out in the van which isn't that comfortable when you don't have company as at festivals.

He left here about 6 pm and will take it steady. The estate agent couldn't get anyone to board the windows until tomorrow and unfortunately the neighbour is away until Sunday which is why he has gone tonight. We are worried that they will come back and either squat or strip the radiators, pipework or whatever.
Its a worrying situation which could have been avoided if the solicitor has got a move on.

I hope you have had a better day than us

So sorry to hear this, @ladyholly. I guess some skankers spotted the house has been empty a while & decided to try their luck. The upshot of this behaviour has resulted in lots of unwelcome stress & work for you which you could do without. Hope Mr LH gets on ok in the van. At least he will be able to assess the situation in person & ensure the house is properly boarded up & secured. What an absolute nuisance & a horrible day indeed.

I'm sorry to hear that @Ladyholly, what the eff is wrong with some people.
Doubt the police would do anything but might be worth Mr LH asking if any of the neighbours have camera doorbells if he feels comfortable asking around.
    Big hugs x

It has been reported to the police and astoundingly they have been round and done fingerprints etc. it helps when the neighbour is a police officer. I am not expecting any outcome though.

Oh no, you don’t need this added stress. I hope Mr LH is going to be safe it sounds like a worrying situation. Fingers crossed the scumbags won’t return now they’ve realised the house is empty.

Well that's good, at least you aren't left with the added anger of being dismissed by the authorities. And there may not be an outcome now, but you never know when any evidence or knowledge helps little bar stewards get their comeuppance in the future.
Are you feeling okay? I hope you have nice things lined up for this evening and while Mr LH is away

My biggest plan for the time he is away is to clean the carpets. I can only do it when he is away as its quite loud and hurts his ears. He has tinnitus with a high oitched sound which can be up to what he describes as a scream so I  avoid doing anything to noisy when he is round.

I bet cant get over the excitement in my life.
