The problem with them is that every time they contact the solicitor it adds to the bill & hopefully it comes out of their share.

Unfortunately it somes out of the entire estate so I pay a proportion of it as well. I try to keep communication at a minimum because I dont want to put more money in the solicitors pocketthan I have to. I also have the land developers writing to him as well although they have gone quiet which is slightly worrying as the contracts (except mine which would be different because I cant go ahead yet) should have been signed by the end of October. I am just sitting ight and waiting.

    Evening all

A miserable day weather wise. Very damp and no sun so felt quite chilly. Listed some of the books. Not expecting much from them but worth a try.

3 loads of washing done which was probably a mistake as I have to hang washing in the bedroom and having just looked the window is steaming up nicely. I have opened the window a bit but not sure it will help.

I was sitting having my mid morning cuppa when I got a photo from dd. She has face planted at the back of her work place in the dark. She thinks she tripped over a pallet on the ground. She is not blaming work as they were actually in the middle of clearing everything. Her husband was there (they work in the same place)  as well well as a couple of other staff members so she felt really stupid. Her dh told her if she had a black eye she wasnt to go to work as everyone would think he had hit her. I pointed out to her when I had one from falling her dad told everyone he had hit me but apparently he is a bit sensitive that way so I will refrain from teasing him.

A friend called for coffee and a good chat just after lunch then out with Bear where he and his little friend shared som treates.

We have fireworks tonight but Bear is coping ok at the moment. A bit of pacing but we largely ignore him as paying too uch attention can make dogs think there is something to worry about whereas if we are calm he doesnt like them but doesnt get too stressed. I am hoping there are none about when we go out later but if there are we will come straight home.

Off to finish stuff on here and then watch some rubbish TV. Have a good evening.

    Evening all

4 parcels posted this morning, 1 to post tomorrow and 1 appears to be a non payer which will be cancelled as soon as I can. I havent had a non payer for a while but any is irritating as it stops other people from buying stuff.

Out to the farm shop this afternoon to buy bacon and black pudding. Hopefully I have got enough for two weeks. I did look at their meat but the thiiiiiiings I wanted looked very small and very thin cut so didnt bother. Weekly shop will be done tomorrow.

Last week I had a letter from the cc company telling me that they would cancel my card if I dont use it so have decided to use it for food shopping and transfer the money into a seperate pot so I can keep a much closer eye on what I am spending. Tonight I found a problem in that I cant remember any log in details and they dont have my current phone number so cannot get any codes from them to restore my account.will have to ring them in the morning to try to sort it out.

Nothing more from the estate agent so looks as though the viewings on the books will be as already booked.

I have just put the recycling out ready for the morning and couldnt hear any fireworks so hope that will continue. There havent been too many so far so will kep my finger crossed.

The washing from Saturday is finally dry and put away except a couple of items that need ironing. These will wait until I have enough to make it worth while plugging in the ironing.

My latest book is one by David Sedaris. If anyone had seen me in bed last night they would have thought I was nuts as I was aactually laughing out loud. I have listened to him on the radio but never read any of his books before but I found this at my bil. It was probabaly my sisters as I know she like his humour.

I am now off to watch tv. Have a good evening.

It’s quiet here too on the fireworks front. May well be a different story tomorrow though.

I think Diwali is coinciding with Bonfire Night this year so hopefully all the fireworks are happening at once and are then over and done with until New Year's Eve.
I hope the house sale runs smoothly for you.
It will probably feel a bit strange when it's finally all done - the end of an era and the associated memories of your sister and brother in law.

I've had a couple of my radiators moved on to the next wall because I really hated having to see curtains tucked up on the window ledge.  One where that couldn't be done, the curtains now drape & I have black out curtains inside the window enclosure.  As it worked out even better than I thought I now need to replace the shower curtain rail they are on with a proper curtain, although, whilst I have had comments on it being a good idea, so far no-one appears to have noticed that it is only a shower rail at a fraction the cost too.
