Evening allHooray the post office was open so 7 parcels posted and a quick trip to the sm. Can you be stopped by the police for overloading a nmobility scooter.
Its a shame I didnt take my list so didnt get a couple of the things we need (I think we will cope until Monday) but I did get some other stuff.
Rang my dd to find she and sil have both had covid. She still doesnt sound good but is returning to work anyway because they are dreadfully short staffed.
Specially for PIP Bear did a sniffari today which he seemed to enjoy and then our friend who has been away for 3 weeks came for coffee and he went nuts to see her. We had a very happy Bear. He is now in the conservatory lying half on his back with his back legs in the air looking very relaxed.I have made a start on cleaning the kitchen tiles. i do wipe them regularly but they still seem to get greasy and have marks on then so need a good scrub type clean every so often. All I need now is the energy to carry on and get them all done.I have sorted out my packing materials and have more than I thought so none needed at the moment.Made cheesy burgers for dinner. All now cleared away. The chicken is out of the freezer for tomorrower which is a miracle as I often forget until I am in bed so have to come down and do it.Still plodding through my book. I am not really enjoying it but am determined to finish it.Have a good evening.2 -

We often overload Mr SA’s scooter 😆 Which book are you reading? I’ve only ever given up on one book, it was dire, about a man who kept changing into a wolf, it was so boring and completely not my thing 😞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Evening allThe book I am reading is called Moscow X by David McCloskey. I think it must be me as it was the Sunday Times thriller of the year. I am just finding the story rather disjointed but it does seem to be improving as I get further in. I am almost half way now. I am reading very slowly as I am not really enjoying it. Plenty of other books to look forward to though.More listing fone and 4 parcels packed ready for the morning. There are others which are due to end soon but they will probably wait until tomorrow morning assuming they are paid for by then. More listing done and I have sorted out some more for listing during the week.Carried on with the tiles in the kitchen and I am now about half way through. The really hard ones behind the deep fat fryer are next and I know they will be reallyhard with the grease so probably only a tiny bit done in the morning.Roast dinner cooked and cleared away- oh yes and eaten. The veg all cooked in the same pan to save th electric and gravy made with the veg water.Still havent put the heating on but the doors have been closed since mid morning. I leave them open as long as possible for Bear to get in and out.Thats all for today have a good evening.4

I’m always wary of books that win awards and often find they’re not that great, so most likely it’s not you it’s the book.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

I'm so glad you said this. So many must reads just leave me feeling depressed. Same with a lot of the films that a must be seen. I read & watch for pleasure not because someone tells me I really ought to & especially not if it is supposed to be good for me.

Evening all.I didnt get the book because it had won an award it just sounded interesting but I dont like the writing style and am finding it very disjointed. I wont be sorry to finish it which is a shame.Off to the PO this morning with 8 parcels and a very overloaded scooter. I could only just get my feet on. I have collected my prescription and made a fool of myself by telling them they had given me the wrong meds. They hadnt but the packaging had changed and I hadnt read the label. Lots of apologies given.I had booked Bear to go to the field much to Mr LHs irritation. He was moaning that it would be very muddy with all the rain we have had - it wasnt. There was a bit of mud at the entrance to the field but the rest of it was fine. However there is a tractor tyre on its side in the field and guess who found it had about 3 inches of muddy water inside it which was great for wallowing in. It was a good job I had taken dog wipes and a couple of towels. It is weird because he wont use his paddling pool in the garden. Perhaps I should throw a couple of handfuls of earth in it to make it muddy next summer.I have a couple of parcels to post tomorrow but they are only small ones so the scooter will get a break.I have booked my flu jab and covid vaccinations for a couple of weeks time at the local pharmacy having had a reminder from the NHS.A couple of items listed this evening but I seem to be spending most of my time packing at the moment.Chicken risotto for dinner which is as far as mr LH will go with rice.It has been dry since first thing this morning and will hopefully be the same for a couple of days if the forecast is to be believed.Thats it so have a ggod evening.4

Evening allMIA yesterday due to having a glass of Cava with dinner ( I am a cheap date) and really feeling it. Of course I shouldnt be drinking at all with my meds but hey ho occasionally is ok'ish. Why was I drinking on a Tuesday evening? Well I lost it in Tesco. I couldnt find half the things I wanted as they are still in the middle of a refit and when I asked the assistant who was wandering around with a sign -- Happy to help for sugar was taken right back the way I had come and then someone else asked for something and she disappeared with him leaving me still not knowing where the sugar was. I gave up at that point and just got the stuff I could find and will get the rest in the morning. I am not impressed. The stock level is shocking and the shop is full of people who cant find things. Some things are in several places and others arent there at all. THe cashier said this is going on until the end of November so I will be shopping elsewhere as I dont have the energy to hunt for stuff.I have finished cleaning he kitchen tiles and hopefully removed all the dog hair from them.Today has not been a no spend day as I have paid the car insurance, the house insurance for bils house, council tax and water rates. Fortunately the only thing that wasnt budgeted was the house insurance but that came out of the money my bil gave me after my sister died to cover exes after he died. Altogether over £900 has disappeared from our bank accounts today! A lot of money for a couple of pensioners with small private pensions. It just shows the wisdom of saving and budgeting as in the old days that would have been on the credit card and the car insurance would have been paid in instalments.3 more parcels packed and ready to go in the morning and there are now no selling fees for private buyers. The sciatica, if thats what it is has been is much better today thaank goodness but still taking painlillers. Long may it continue.Thats all for tonight have a good evening.8
