Great news about Bear.
That all sounds productive despite sleep and struggling issues.
The alarm company is outrageous. Should the solicitor not be dealing with this anyway if it's an outstanding payment/contract cancellation relating to BiL?1 -
Great news about Bear's test. Glad you've got a chance to have a bit of a break for a while before the house clearance.

PennysIntoPounds Yes the solicitor should be dealing with the alarm company but they demanded a letter letter from him agrreing to deal with it. I refused this as the solicitow would have been charging me for the letter. I am paying him enough so didnt want to rack up more for a stupid letterthat isnt needed.Sun addict I have looked at companies house but I cant see any info on who the CEO. I usually use the website that gives CEOs email but that doesnt give the info either.
I will not let this company win as they have really P******* me off. Their website does not give a postal addess and the only way I can see of complaining is by phone. My problem with this is first I hate phones and more important I want a record of what their answers not just the word of an underpaid call centre employee. Hence the letter.Mr LH said they were useless when he had to deal with their engineers years ago and the office staff are no better.

What a waste of your time & mental energy, @ladyholly. Mum's emergency alarm was actually one of the easiest things to deal with after her death. The most difficult was Dad's composing royalties on which HMRC were convinced Mum had been evading tax for one year. She hadn't, but it took ages to move forwards on the issue. I expect every estate has at least one incredibly annoying & frustrating thing. I really dislike how some companies make themselves as difficult to contact as possible.

The alarm people were quick and courteous when I was dealing with my dad's stuff too, and didn't even make a fuss when I couldn't find one of the two, and were then relaxed about what to do when I did find it.
This company are rogue2 -
The emergency alarm people were fine. This is the burglar alarm company which is an American company and probably one of the better known one. Complaint letter sent today but probably not the correct address. We will see what happens.3

Are they on Resolver? That might be a way of getting your complaint through."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Ah, apologies for misunderstanding. They're still dreadful and rogue though! Well done on getting the complaint off2
