Evening alljwil it is one step forward and two backwards.Spent a couple of hours listing more stuff first thing after Bears walk.Mr LH got up just as I was making a cup of tea after finishing the listing which was surprising as he didnt go to bed until about 6am so sorted out some stuff in the bedroom to try and make it look more like a bedroom and less like a storage unit. Dont think I succeded but at least it is tidier. A load of washing also hung up.I messaged the chap about coming for furniture on Tuesday but his van is broken and he has decided to retire anyway. I asked if he knew anyone else. He sent a phone number and the chap is coming Tuesday. When I looked him up he is a proper house clearance company so hopefully will be able to sort the whole lot in one go. Obviously not on Tuesday as there is so much but hopefully can make arrangements for another day. Thay have their own shop as well as clearing rubbish which is what I wanted as some of the stuff is antique and saleable so hopefully will reduce the clearance bill.I have written a grumpy letter to the alarm company telling them they need to show some empathy. I could have said a lot more but managed to restrain myself a little. The ramps have arrived so my sisters mobilty scooter can come home on Tuesday then all I have to do is learn to drive it although I am assured they are easy and hopefully train Bear to walk beside me with it. The latter will take a long time as he is still pulling like a tractor at times.I was going to give the garden a good water this evening but it is raining so a job I dont need to do. I am grieving for the garden on the whole as it need some serious love but I simply havent had the energy. I got some horticultural vinegar to kill the weeds but havent even opened it yet and the weeds are thriving.Thats been my day. Some good some bad and some possibly good. I hope yours has been all good.

You are doing great work ploughing through all the admin of your b-I-l's estate.
It's disappointing when people can be so insensitive at a time when a degree of thoughtfulness means so much.
When I rang a company and informed them that my mum had died, the person on the phone replied with the much over-used and chirpy "perfect". Err no it's not perfect at all! When I politely told her that she then replied with "not a problem" 😳3 -
Evening allI am so out of touch with reality that when I checked the bank account I couldnt work out why I had a payment that said NHS tax. All I saw was tax and was totally confused for a minute until I realised it was my pension. As mr LH says I would be dangerous if I had a brain. However money shuffle complete, a couple of necessary emails sent. We havent heard from the company collecting BiLs car. They said they would send us a time slot. If I dont hear Monday am I will be emailing them. I just hope the collection isnt too late on Tuesday a we cant leave until they have been.3 parcels sent this morning and someone collected something I had put on a social media site. Then someone else got in touch for it and strangely I have a similar item so hopefully she will collect tomorrow.I have at last put some home made weed killer down in the garden.Guess what! More listing done but no sales today. There are bids on a couple of things that end tomorrow though.Tomorrow I must start to get the stuff we are taking with us on Moday together.Thats it for today. Have a good evening.3

h thats my problem _ a lack of brain.Evening all. Got back from biks about 3pm and we are both shattered but his car has gone and we have had a house clearance company to give an estimate. They will hopefully email me in a couple of days. Poor Bear has not been happy as there have been several strangers in the house whih has unsettled him. He had a very stressed journey home but is now fairly content in "his" conservatory. The chap collecting the car had never had to disconnect an electric car and neither had we so we had to get the neighbour out to do it. (We asked the neighbour to put it on charge to make sure it was ready to go.) It was collected Monday pm instead of today. While the neighbour was there we asked him what we should do with a couple of very old bullet shaped ordnance. They were about 5inches long and we had no idea if they were live. It was a type Mr LH had never seen (he used to target shoot) as the neighbour is a police officer we thought it was best to ask him,He advised ringing 101 which I did and after refusing to take it in the car to the nearest police station several miles away they said they would collect them They did at midnight. They rang first about 10.30 and I said we were in bed. Not too happy but we got up and handed them over. A sigh of relief all round. The officer that collected them didnt know what they were either or if they were live.I have had a sale while I was away so guess where I am going in the morning. We brought a few bits home included the mobility scooter which we had to take apart, sorry Mr LH, had to take apart to get in the car. Hopefully I will be able to use it soon when it is put back together and had a good clean.I think that mw up to date. Oh yyes no money spent except for diesel for the car.Off to rekax now before taking Bear out. Have a good evening.5

You are doing really well with all these sales. Also good news you’ll have a mobility scooter as your disposal to get you around. I’ve never heard of ordnance but glad you got it sorted.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Sounds like you are making good progress, @ladyholly. I remember how intensive it was getting my parents' house cleared & sold, especially as, much like yourself, neither my sister or I lived nearby.
