Evening all.  This will not be a long one as it is almost time for bears walk. The trip was  pretty successful as we have got a lot home. The journey was good both ways with minimal delays. In fact we came home last evening  along the M3, M27 & M4 and despite leaving about half an hour later arrived home before dd and sil who came over the Mendips and via Salisbury. Our conservatory now looks like a storage unit. I have move a little bit but there is much more to go.

Bear was an absolute angel while we were there and found himself a shady spot in the garden under a Rosemary bush. Boy was it hot.  He was happy there for much of the time unless one of us went somewhere he couldnt follow and were out of sight outside. He stayed on his long line which we attached to the newel post at the bottom of the stairs so he had a fair bit of freedom (the long line we use is actually a horse lunge line). We are very impressed with him.

I have made a minor start on listing stuff but have had several visitors since we got home which has delayed things but made a good break for me.

I have to go down again on Monday as the company who will remove the stairlift are coming at 8am Tuesday!! They wouldnt change it and I would have to wait another 2 3 weeks before they could come again.

We have made a friend happy as we have given her one of the wheelchairs that belonged to my sister. Hers was almost collapsing. Dd and sil have a chest. a nest of tables and a couple of pictures so they are very happy with that.

My treat is a cordless vacuum cleaner and a hand held cleaner from the company that has a g and then another word in its name. It was very dirty and full of cat hair but Mr LH has spent the afternoon cleaning them, washing filters etc so all rady to use. my plan is to use it for upstairs as heaving my heavy machine up and down is hard work and the hand held is for the stairs and car.

Off now to take Bear for his walk and then a cup of tea and an earlyish night.

    Have a good night.

  • That sounds like you've all done great work, I'm glad lots of things got good homes. Especially the vacuum cleaner, that will hopefully help a lot for you.
Annoying to need to go back for an 8am start on Tues but I'm sure you'll be brilliantly productive as ever

LH don’t think I have ever commented on your diary before but have read along for a while . Firstly well done on getting AA I hope it makes life a little easier for you . You always seem to tackle anything that comes your way  full on without much grumbling.
Am glad to hear that your BIL house is getting emptied albeit in stages .
I also enjoy hearing about Bear and glad he was good for you .
Hope you are getting a rest today .

That’s great news about the lift 🙂 You must be exhausted from all this coming and going, sorting things out, plus walking Bear, you deserve a break.
