Evening allA busy couple of days. Firstly the trains went perfectly with all on time. Coming back there were no seats on one of them so I had a word with the train manger and asked if he could find me one as my legs were starting to be very painful. . He did and carried my case to get to it. He then offered to help me off the train. I am so used to doing it I said I was ok as he had another passenger in the next carriage he needed his help. Mr LH picked me up as usual. I always wear a sunflower lanyard for hidden disabilities when I travel which can be useful.I have had two of the three probate valuations already which are for a bit more than I expected. I will have to make a decision of who to use at some point but not worth it until probate has at least been applied for. The contents valuer was fairly close lipped but he will snd his findings to the solicitor and I will be able to get it from him. I have mainly spent my time clearing rubbish and there is now a full wheelie bin of general waste (mostly out of date food) and about half a wheelie bin of paper. The kitchen is also a bit cleaner so I am not so worried about getting ill when preparing food if I stay there again. One funny moment was his emergency alarm unit which has to be returned. I managed to disentangle all the wires eventually but could find no way of switching it off. This wouldnt have been a problem but it kept saying there was no power to it and it couldnt dial out. Would have been great on the train when it started talking. Eventually I checked the battery compartment thinking I would disconnect the back up battery but it was wired in in to the unit so no chance. I finally found a tiny switch in one corner of the battery compartment and bliss it was quiet. I then had to find the button which he was supposed to wear round his neck but couldnt find it anywhere. I knew he wasnt wearing it when he was found so spent ages searching to eventually find it on top of the fridge freezer. Just the place for your emergency call button. It is now packed and ready to go but I have remembered I am supposed to send a copy of the the bit of his will appointing me as executer. I personally think they have a cheek asking for this. No one else has queried it or even needed a death certificate so they will get as little of the will I can get away with. You are not going to believe this but Mr LH let Bear escape again. To be fair he didnt realise (neither did I) that he can open the door from the lounge to the conservatory if it isnt fully locked shut and then into the garden if the sliding door there is left just a tiny bit open. He is also checking out door handles apparently. Most are knobs and I always lock the front door, Mr LH doesnt so I will need to check that regularly. Mr LH followed him on his travels but lost sight of him so came home to fnd him in the garden looking very pleased with himself. We dont know if he came home on his own or someone who knows him returned him. Having had many dogs including Miss W who was on TV we are well known in this area plus with Bear being very anti many other dogs many newer owners are aware of him and knows where we live. Of course he does also have a tag on his collar. I am seriously considering a tracker for him. I suspect if he was returned home someone will let me know in the next few days. The good news on this was Mr LH was putting the kitchen unit back in the car wheen he escaped so the conservatory is now a little emptier just the rest of his stuff to go next week when he is away so I will be able to clean in there before starting to bring stuff back from bils. Bear is too clever for his own good sometimes.I think thats enough from me for now. Have a good evening..5

Glad your trip went fairly smoothly, and glad that you got help on the train.
I hope Mr LH is repentant of the times he's had a go at you about Bear! He's obviously a clever dog."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
Evening allI havent got cross with mr LH this time with Bear taking an unscheduled walk because neither of us knew he could open the door. The scaore at the moment is mr LH 3 times including yesterday and once to me and I am the one who he calls careless.Went to sm this morning and spent a small fortune on toys for Bear which he immediately destroyed as expected and I had a conservatory full of stuffing. He doesnt get them often so I dont object really. I also bought two brand new books so very happy as I now have a good stash to work my way through. All total luxuries but they have come from my ebay money so havent affected my budget. The bus home didnt appear so 3/4 hour sitting in hot sun waiting for the next one.Our friend called for coffee at lunchtime which was lovely and then a walk with Bear who met one of his friendswhile out. This afternoon has been spent doing nothing as giving myself recovery time as I rather pushed my energy level the last couple of days so it will take a few days to find some energy again. It is very frustrating but I cant change it so just have to go along with it.Thats my lack of activity for today so have a good evening all.3

After the last couple of days you deserve a break. Not that it sounds to me like you got one really.

I think anyone would need a few days taking it easy after all your current activity!
Glad you've got a lovely pile of books to enjoy, and that Bear enjoyed ripping his gifts apart 😁2 -
You deserve a rest after all the travelling. My dog (unfortunately) can also open doors - luckily we have a 6ft fence all the way round the house so she can just get into the garden.Sealed pot challenge 822
