Evening allToday has alll been telephone calls to arrange property valluations, cancelling things and trying to sort bils house insurance.which was a joke. The companies bereavement team were apparently not available this morning but would ring back this afternoon - they didnt so a complaint sent. It is a pretty shoddy company that makes you you have to ring back in these circumstances and no doubt have to go through everything again. Even worse when you have to get through their automated switchboard first. I have also complained to Mr M as they now own our local PO. There was a sign outside today that Mr M daily coming soon. What does soon mean? Will there still be a PO there. The lack of information is very unhelpful. Surely they know when the refit will be complete. I have managed to arrange the 3 estate agents to all visit on one day and when I can get hold of the contents valuer (he wasnt available today I can fit kim in either the same day or the day before or after so all is done in one go. I have also found out some other paperwoerk the solicitor wanted which I can post to him on Monday. For safety it will go special delivery which is why it will be posted Monday. The roadworks which have closed our bus stop seem to be moving very slowly and causing problems for both traddic and pedestrians. They keep parking their lorries in the most stupid places, Monday it was on on the pavement. Hard luck if you have a push chair, scooter etc. Today a bus had to reverse to let car through because the lorry made the road too narrow to get through after the temporary traffic light that are being a pain as there are two sets within about 30 yards of each other with one set being 3 way.Tomorrow in between doing more phoning I must do a bit of housework and get in the garden. I just hope I can phsically do everything I need to do.Take care all and have a good evening.5

Sounds like you are making good progress with all the admin and paperwork.
it's a shame that some bereavement teams are not sensitive at a difficult time. I tried to send some flowers to a funeral in Australia today. I rang the inter flora dedicated funeral number and was very glibly told that they didn't deal with overseas funerals and I should go on line and chat with their AI robot who woukd help me. Err no thanks I'll try a different company.3 -
Glad the trip to BILs went ok. Shame about all the admin nonsense."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Evening all. Some achievements today. Bil house insurance sorted and the contents valuer appointment is arranged. I did get into the garden for a short while and got some stuff done before my breathing got bad. Had a rest and then some housework comleted. I have sorted out paperwork to send to the solicitor and written a covering letter with some queries I have for him. I think I am getting to the end of stuff I need to do and have checked that most of whats left can be done on line which makes it easier for me. I hate making phone calss especially to people I dont know.We still havent cleaned the pond out as mr LH changed his mind about doing it this week. I dont know when he thinks we are going to do it but that is one one of the few things he does although it does involve me as well so I am leaving it up to him to let me know. I will be away at bils on Thursday and Friday of next week for the valuations to be done and he is away the week after. As you can tell another exciting day chez ladyholly.Have a good evening.4

Those are good achievements, well done. Hopefully it'll all start progressing of its own accord very soon. With no phone calls! I agree, I absolutely hate doing them and can easily put off a do-able task for weeks if one has to be made3

Evening allThe remaining companies have now been contacted and things cancelled. I thought that was it for now but an email from the solicitor involved more research through the paper mountain. Hooray I found what he wants I think. Apparently he has also sent some stuff for my attention by snail mail. Oh joy more pieces of paper. We had a visit from a friend and when he left Mr LH managed to let Bear escape again. Fortunately he went to his usual walking place ( Bear not our friend) and was caught by a couple of fellow dog owners who were there with their Rottie and Lab. I have made my feelings on the escape very clear to Mr LH who became all defensive. Luckily once again he was playing happily with the other dogs. It seems to be that only if either he or other dogs are on leads does it cause a problem. It is a shame he has no recall when he is out despite our best efforts as I think he would love to play with other off lead dogs but as there are roads surrounding the walking areas with no fences it simply isnt safe. We are going to book the enclosed field again now the ground has dried out but I want to get next week over with first with having to go to bils again for the valuations. I really do have to conserve my energy these days.A no spend day today but I will need to go out tomorrow unfortunatly to get mr LHs cigaretes and the shopping I would normally do on Monday but wont be able to as I have to get a bus in the opposite direction to go to the alternative PO on Monday. There is only the the shop that started life in Rochdale near that one and I find they are very expensive and only have a limited range. No reply from Mr M about asking when and if my local PO wiill be reopening. Thanks to Bear today was bit more exciting but I can do without that kind. Anyway I hope everyone has a peaceful weekend....4

Phew that Bear is okay- I do love that he broke free to go and have a play with his mates though 😊
Maybe Mr LH could make up for it by doing another sort out while you get his ciggies?!1 -

The only thing mr LH will do while I get his ciggies is sleep. We work on very different timetables. I am up between 6 and 7am and go to bed between 10 and 11pm. He is wolen about 11.30am and goes to bed at any time he feels like it usually about 4am.
