You’ve had a lot on your plate so no need whatsoever to hang your head in shame.
    I agree with SA

The only way we can get my dog to come back if she’s escaped is to open the car boot as she knows she’s going for a good walk - she’s runs back and jumps in the car ready.  They are little buggers ! We put a spring on the gate as I was sick of people leaving it open.

Glad that Bear was eventually caught - it's such a palaver when pets just won't listen.  I hope his leg is ok today.
that was very nice of that person to send a letter and some stamps.  A very practical but thoughtful thing to do.

Evening all. To be fair to Bear leaving the door and the gate open was asking for trouble. Mr LH tried to say he thought I had shut the door but as he came out of it afterme that would have been difficult. Anyway all ok and I have calmed down.

2 parcels posted this morning and absolutely nothing else done at all other than the usual dog walks, cooking etc. My breathing seems a bit better today.

Another item sold. Plants have been watered but I dont think we are going to get much off the veggie plants as they dont seem to be growing at all and look quite sad. Not sure what I have done to them but perhaps they will perk up if the weather stays warmer. I will try planting some more seeds if we have any that can be planted in May. I will have to look.

So having had a very lazy day thats it for today. Take care.

Evening all. It has been very warm today so consequently I have been in pain (why is my arthritis always bad in hot weather?), feeling exhausted and struggling to breathe. I had to cut Bears walk short but Mr LH took him the rest of the way on his own. We usually do the lunchtime walk together but I had to give up.

I had a delivery of some plants that I ordered ages ago and have managed to plant them this evening as it was cooler.

A letter arrived telling me my NHS pension has one up by 6.7%. The pension isnt huge but every little helps. I think it will go into the car fund as I really dont save enough in that.

A friend called for a coffee and chat this afternoon which was nice but tiring.

I have listed a couple of things today that Mr LH has dug out of his room that has been sat for years doing nothing. There is one more to go but i needed his help with knowing what it is.- electronic stuff which I know nothing about.

The washing I did a couple of days ago put away but thats about it for me today. Sorry sun worshipers but roll on slightly cooler weather.
    Have a good evening all.

Sorry you've been struggling in the heat.  Good news about the pension raise.

  • Good news about the pension increase. I too received an increase in my Local Government pension, but as my mum is in a care home, and as I pay a top-up fee, this will no doubt be eroded when the fee will inevitably increase, as well as the cost of living cost, so at least we are surviving and keeping afloat. As you say, every little helps.

Thats the trouble you get an increase which is then eaten up by increases in your outgoings.

We had a great view of the Northern Lights here apparently - pity I was asleep 🤣 Saw photos taken by local people though.
