Many thanks for all you kind words. I am feeling totally overwhelmed at the moment as my bil died this afternoon and there is so much to do. I am heading home tomorrow as I have an optician appointment on Friday morning but will probably come back after the weekend. My immediate problem is his cat . I would take her home but Bear does not do cats at all. He did sign up for the cats protection guardian scheme but we will have to wait until they have a place. His neighbour will feed her for the time being but it is not fair for it to go on too long. I may well ring the local rescues and see if anyone can take her. I am so tired tonight that I am not thinking straight at the moment.
Take care everyone.5 -
So sorry to hear your news. Look after yourself xxslowly working towards being MF one small over payment at a time :T1

I’m so sorry. Please take care of yourself too, you’ve done such a lot for him. I wish I lived nearer to take the cat.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Definitely take care of yourself first. If you don't you can't take care of anyone else. If you are his NOK/executor then the only important thing is stopping his income. If you have questions then some of the bits on here can be really helpful.

I'm so sorry. My thoughts are with you and Mr LH.
The cat will be okay with food and a fuss for a bit so don't rush into anything too quickly.
As @badmemory says, work out what needs to be dealt with pressingly and we're all here to support you or suggest the right direction to look in if you're unsure.
And yes, prioritise taking good care of yourself xhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

So sorry to read about your BIL. Please look after yourself, and remember that although there are things to do you can do them at your pace. Would any of your BIL's neighbours consider taking his cat permanently?1

So sorry to hear this @ladyholly. I hope you're proud of all the love and support you gave him. We are indeed all here for you and it sounds like he went quickly and without pain. Love Humdinger xx3

That's sad news, @ladyholly, though there is something to be said for a quick passing without pain & a long hospital stay. Take some time to gather your thoughts & be kind to yourself. I hope the cat can be rehomed, maybe to a neighbour, or by a local charity. Poor thing will be feeling confused, I expect.
