  • Sorry the pensions are being ridiculous.
    Very windy in London too.
Makes sense that if you have a consistent urticaria reaction then that would also affect the sinuses and airways as it's an autoimmune response, sadly it does seem like many medical professionals live in their own tiny specialised world and are never taught joined-up thinking

    Evening all

Weather is still windy and according to th weather forecast going to remain so. Last night as soon as I wrote it had been dry all day it started to rain heavily and was stil going when I took Bear for his evening walk. Our lounge then smelt of eau de canine - not good but he does dry off quickly.

Another day pottering doing bits and pieces that have been waiting for a while. Money moved to the car pot as I forgot on Friday. I have had another sale and that is all packed ready to go tomorrow. A birthday present for my friends dgs 1st birthday. and she picked it up late morning when she called for her weekly coffee with us.

I spoke to bil this evening who sounds a bit more cheerful. He has been referred to the stroke clinic as his gp thinks he may have had a tia. He is worried is that a major stroke will leave him disabled and unable to care for himself. He has  decided he is not going to renew his car insurance and will stop driving. I think the accident has knocked his confidence although it wasnt his fault. i am not surprised but it will make the trips to see him more expensive at about £50 for taxi and the train. Thank goodness for rail cards or it would be about £70.

No money spent this weekend but will need to get gigarettes for Mr LH tomorrow when I go to the PO.

Meals. Lunch - salad, scrambled egg, b&b. Dinner - roast pork, cauliflower, sprouts, carrots, apple sauce, stuffing. Snacks - banana and yoghurt.

I have just had great fun emailing our local tory MP having received a leaflet from him telling us that taxes are down - Which taxes? A local bypass that has been proposed for a hundred years is going ahead- the contractor has dropped out, we have over 500 new police officers - our local team has an inspector, a sergeant, a constable and 4 pcsos and they cover a large area. Inflation is down yes it has now dropped to the same rate as Jan 2012. I am intrigued to see if he replies.

I have received the info for my NHS pension. From next month I will recieve an extra £10 a month because the amount of tax I pay has shot up because of no rise in pa.

Parcel posted this morning and spent about £10 in the sm. Mainly salad and medical stuff. I had good news on the bus. The time it gets to our stop has been brought forward by about 10mins which makes a difference to me as I like to be out early and it is usually late.  Two carrier bags of assorted stuff dropped at the charity shop and tomorrow I hope to find some more that can go either Friday or next Monday.

General tidying up done  and some admin.

Meals Lunch - tuna salad, b&b. Dinner - Baco & beans on toast. Snacks - grapes, banana, yoghurt.

Well done on the decluttering, and good news about the bus.

    Evening all.
I have been mia for a few days. Been feeling pretty down as my breathing has been very poor. Every time I do anything Ihave to sit down to recover. I have managed Bears walks most days but I think the fresh air helps a ltlle but it takes a while to stop sounding like a steam train. The healthey eating has also gone to pot so will have gained weight this week. I am now having trouble getting back intoit. Nothing is easy.

I have been to bil who is not too bad. Ha has an appointment at the stroke clinic tomorrow and has been banned from driving by the doctors at least until they see him but probably permanently. A streesful trip back as I got off the train for my final change to fing the connection had gone and there wasnt another for over an hour so got back on the one I had just left to change in Bristol which I hate doing as it is a lot of walking to change platform even using lifts. When I got up to the platform I got on the train that was waiting and realised that it was the one I should have caught in Bath.  Then they announced I needed to be in the first five coaches but as I had no idea which coach I was in I was worried that I wouldnt be able to get off at our little station with a short platform. By chance I was Ok but why do they tell you the letter designation of the coach you need to be in but it is only outside the coach. The platform announcement never give that info.  Changing in Bath I know the sytem but coming up in the lift I had no idea which train it was so didnt realise it was the long one.

Been doing bits in the garden as much as I can and even managed to cut the grass yesterday. My lovely neighbour has trimmed one of the shrubs in the front garden and I am gradually cutting the others as they have been sadly neglected.

The dog wardens called on Wednesday and are going to write to the owner of the dog that grabbed Bears leg. I dont think they have done it yet as he was out with the dog this afternoon with it on the long line which he wasnt holding on to. Some people dont learn. Ther are a lot of dogs around here many of which have minimal if any training so are likely to run up to other dogs whether the dog is friendly or not. Besr did have a nice interaction with a puppy the other day with the owners permission and even turned his back on it. Mind he had just growled at a Jack Russell but I think that was to do with a ball the other dog had.

I brought back more things from my bil but am having problems listing them as the battery in my camera is not holding charge. It has been used a lot over the last few years and is quite old so will have to order a new one.

Well thats enough drivel for tonight and its time to walk Bear. I am not going to list food as it too depressing but should start again tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I do know what you mean about trains & lack of real info.  Many years ago I bought a ticket to travel immediately from Manchester to Gloucester change at Birmingham.  So I was on the second leg & had left Cheltenham & it didn't stop at Gloucester & I landed up in Bristol.  No mobile phones then either.  Almost 50 years later & I still don't know why the idiot who sold me the ticket didn't tell me.

You’ll soon get back on the healthy eating it’s just a blip. You’ve got a lot to contend with at the moment.

Trains are a nightmare. Why doesn’t it say where they’re going like a bus?  I once got on a train by mistake at Birmingham New Street that was going to Scotland. It didn’t say anywhere where it was going. It had stopped at the platform my train was due at.

Sorry you haven't been feeling great, hope it improves.

I agree that trains are not always clear.

To be fair to GWR who are my main company for trains most of them have the destination on the front of the train (no help if its already at the platform) and some of the trains from London have the stations etc on each carriage along with the the letter designation but no help when you dash onto the train not knowing how long it is, which way it is leaving (Bristol varies) and when its leaving. Thank goodness for other passengers who know what they are doing.

What an awful morning first thing with wind and heavy rain. Bear was so disgusted he cut hi walk short as he doesnt like either wind or rain. It did however stop raining by 8.30 so two more carrier bags left the house this morning for the charity shop. Mr LHs cigs bought while out and with a lot of wandering about the sm nearly missed the bus home. Baby plants all checked and at last the tomatoes seem to be doing something. It is still windy and I cant say Bear enjoyed his lunchtime walk but at least it waited until we were home for the rain to start again. I dont think he will enjoy his bedtime walk due to the wind and he isnt keen on the dark especially since his run in with the German shepherd.

I have had a reply from my MP and had to laugh. Most of it was the usual rubbish but he did admit that taxes havent gone down as stated in his leaflet. So a liar then spreading untruths. Who would have guessed?

I spent ages this afternoon looking for a book that mr LH wanted to look at to find it at the boottom of a pile with a slightly larger book on top so I couldnt see it.

Meals lunch - tuna b&b Moyonaise, dinner cold roast chicken, sweet potato, runner beans, peas. Snacks yoghurt, banana, grapes.
