Tiredness and breathing have been much better today. I think it has been that I pushed myself too much last week when Mr LH was away. It can be very frustrating to be able to do so little but if I push it I am useless for days. You would think I would know by now that I can only do so much without suffering the next day or more likely the day after that.

We have had a sociable couple of days with a friend visiting yesterday for a couple of hours and then Miss Ws fosterer coming today. It wa lovely to see her but it must have been a bit strange for her with no Miss W to greet her. Every long term dog owner or fosterer has one special dog that they will always think of and I think Miss W was hers. She has certainly left a big hole here despitehavng the other 2.

NSD yesterday and today which is great.

I will probably use the courgettes with the roast chicken tomorrow by roasting them with the chicken but I will look up the courgette carbonara recipe as it sounds tasty. I cut 2 more this morning so plenty fo roasting and there seem to be lots more on the way and I only have 3 plants. The strawberry plant I bought a couple of weeks ago has some fruit on it but they are far from ripe yet. Looking forward to those.

Right enough drivel for now I am off to look at recipes.

How nice that you are already picking courgettes, @ladyholly. Mine are not even at the flowering stage yet.
I know how tiring myaesthenia can be with my Mum having had it. She took steroids on alternate days as part of her drug regime to control it. She always had more energy on a steroid day & was more tired & floppy in her muscles on the days in between. If she overdid physical activity on those days (like me she was a very keen gardener), she really used to suffer for it. It's a strange illness for sure.

I am lucky with my garden as it is very protected and we are in the west country country which is comparatively mild. When we lived in south Devon our garden was always a week or two behind my Mums who lived in the same town we do now.

There is lots of research going on into myasthenia at the moment but it is so variable from not only day to day but person to person. I know from other people that many of the symptoms that people get are not recognised as being caused by myasthenia. You are right foxgloves it is a very strange disease I dont take steroids as I have strongly resisted them as I am already pretty overweight but I know my neurologist wants me to.

Another NSD day today and another friend is coming round this afternoon. It has been a very sociable weekend when usually we dont see anyone except when we are out with the dogs.

I am just finishing a cup of tea beore going to photograph some more books and other bits to put on ebay so best getting a wriggle on. Have a good day all.

I am feeling very smug this evening as we had home grown spinach and courgettes with our dinner this evening. Even Mr LH was complimentary.

Ooh how nice 😋 I was late sewing my courgettes this year and although they’re growing at an alarming rate they’re nowhere near producing anything.

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Being in a milder part of the country and having a sheltered garden certainly helps.

A spending day today as I had to renew my rail card and got tickets to see my BiL on Wednesday so that was £62.80. A quick trip to T*** for some milk a couple of bananas and 4 small carrots for the dogs.It came to less than £2.00 so happy with that , on to the PO to post the latest sale and the butcher to buy kidneys. MrLH loves them but they are becoming increasingly hard to find. The supermarkets dont have them and the butcher had a grand total of two. They normally have them in the freezer but there were none there. I usually buy 3 packs so was a bit frustrated. Doesnt anyone make steak and kidnwy pie any more?

Nothing else done today as a trip into town was enough but I have transferred £10 into the loan account. Ther is not mucg doing on ebay at the moment I suspect people are too worried about there bills to buy stuff they dont really need.

Garden is all watered and bins out for tomorrow and dinner  (chicken risotto) cooked and cleared away. I usually get a large chicken but got a medium one last week and it has done 2 meals and there will be enough for lunch tomorrow so happy with that.

Ooh forgot to say I have bought 2 more long planters for next year before they disappear off the shelves. They will be good for some more veg all I have to do is find somewhere to put them. I am not planting them this year as the fence is being replaced next month and finding somewhere to move thing to will be hard enough without trying to find space for more.

A quiet eveing in store a is usual.

Whew what a hot day today. Very unpleasant trip to do weekly shop as the car was roasting when we got in it. A total of appro £80 spent but that included some feed for the plants and an extra bag of dog food as T**** had £3.00 off it. I wont need it for about 3 weeks but it will save a bit. I noticed that butter and cheese had gone up in A***. Will it never end?

I walked to the local A*** this morning and then out with the dogs before it got too hot. Out again for our normal walk but a very short one due to the temperature. Then off to go shopping in the car. I will probably suffer for all that tomorow or Thursday especially as I am going to see my BiL tomorrow so up at 5.30am and three and a half hours travelling each way with 2 changes of train.

An early night tonight I think.

Leaving for the station soon ! I have just checked my bank account and the £150 rebate has arrived at last. They said about 3 weeks but it has been 5.  It has been transferred straight to the emergency fund so that is looking a bit better.

I am so glad to be home. One of the most streesful trips to my BiL I have had. The first train arrive dead on time, the second was approx 7minutes late which should have just given me time to get the final connection. Unfortunately as I was on my way down the steps to the platform I heard the doors shut. I didnt have to wait long for another one luckily but still annoying. Coming back the first train was 6mins late which left little time to change platforms again, fortunately the 2nd train was also a little late so I caught it with no problem but was I going to be in time for the 3rd train? Yep youve guessed it that one was also late by 6 mins, however I got home almost dead on time.  I know train schedules are complex but what irritated me was the live departure board on line was  not giving the correct info more that a maximum of 2 stations ahead so forward planning was hard when I am being met at both ends. I certainly didnt want my BiL in a hot car for too long.

Anyway the only money spent was on takeaway fish and chips to save me cooking and that was £11 and a few pennies. Feeling quite weary now but will take the dogs out soon as they havent really had a walk today due to the heat.
