Evening all. I put up the dog crate to clean it but it is so distorted  it took ages then I realised the removeable base is going rusty so have decided to junk it. We dont use it for Bear and he actually looked really worried when it was up. We have scrap metal man come round regularly so if I put it out he will pick it up. At the moment the plan is that Bear will be our last dog as all things being equal by the end of his life Mr LH will be about 80. If we ever do need a crate we will have to buy a new one.

Parcel posted from a small sale over the weekend and for those who commented I have spent a small fortune on new bedding for Mr LH and I including mattress and pillow protectors as the ones we have are at the end of their life and look horrible. I know no one sees them except me but you never know if one of us needed care and we has care staff to help out.

Lounge hoovered and I think almost all the coffee stain has gone also one left from when Miss W was poorly which I have been trying to clean for months.

A friend called in for coffee so we were quite late taking Bear out which in turn meant we met several other dogs. It is usually very quiet when we go but he did quite well especilly as one of them ran towards him. He is improving slowly but I would love to know what has happened to him to make him so fearful . On second thoughts its perhaps better I dont know.

Meals today. Breakfast- oatmeal and canned apricots, lunch - scrambled egg and b&b. I didnt fancy any salad, Dinner The remains of the roast pork, peas, sprouts carrots and cabbage. Snacks - banana ( a whole one just for me), and some yoghurt. Weigh in tomorrow morning so will see what the scales say.
    Have a peaceful evening.
  • Another productive day, and I am a firm believer that if you can afford good bedding you should absolutely get it, after all it is where we spend a significant amount of our time! (Over half of the time in my case 😁)

Could the money from your sales go towards a laptop so you're not waiting for Mr LH to let you be online?

    Glad you got the bedding.

Good luck with the weigh in today!

I had thought of my own laptop but I have a feeling that Mr LH would make a claim on it for something plus I am not sure I would be able to to set it up being a bit of a technophobe.

I am looking forward to testing the new bedding in a few days. Talking of quality I was thinking about the blankets on my bed and a couple of them were a wedding present over  50years ago. They came from M&S when they were very good quality.

Freezer defrosted and cleaned this morning. It only took just over an hour thanks to my steam cleaner but when I had finished I was in pain from standing so long so nothing else got done except the shopping list for this afternoon which was duly done.

Weighed this morning and have lost 3lbs. Pleased with that. Meals today breakfast -  oats and fruit, lunch - houmas salad, dinner - huntsman chicken (chicken with bacon & cheese with barbeque sauce), rice, leeks, sweet potato and broccoli. Not particularly slimming but tasted good.

That's my day so have a good evening.

  • He surely can't use two laptops at once, even if he does commandeer it you could still use the old one. As a fellow technophobe I quite understand reluctance but I've found laptops have got much more user friendly to set up, or is there a Currys you could get to and request they do it for you if you buy it from them?
Hope this doesn't sound overbearing, apologies if so, just seems a shame for you to not be able to be part of your online community when you please, especially with all the hard work you're putting into selling items.

Well done on the weight loss and the defrosting and shop!

No he wouldnt use 2 laptops at oncve but although ne has a laptop it is very old, slow, very limited memory etc. We mainly use the desktop and he does connect the two for who knows what. He is very old fashioned in some ways and refuses to have new programs that have to be paid for. He hates that I do internet banking although he is quite happy for me to log on when it suits him. I can use my phone if he is on the computer but if my eyes are not good it is hard with a small screen. Myasthenia causes my eyelids to droop and when I am tired they can close almost entirely . I am hoping having the cataract will help a bit as at least then I wont have blurry vision in one eye. The vision is ok in the other having already had the cataract op but it is the good one that tends to close. Sorry a very long explaination. I just consider myself very lucky that it doesnt affect the muscles in my legs and arms just my eyes and mouth. I sometimes slur words which with MR LHs hearing is not a good combination. :D

The only important thing about any new laptop is the security.  I must confess to being lazy about things these days & leave much of this to DS.  I do have a laptop which I rarely use, only when I am not at home which isn't often now.  I have nothing on it which needs to be secure so have you heard the one about the password being password.  Mine isn't but not far off.  Sharing is fine if you actually share but not if you are always second.  I do hope you have someone to set one up for you.
