My book of A Christmas carol also has other Christmas stories by Dickens but none are as readable. I re read it every year and never tire of it. Great lessons for everyone. The police security chap came today as planned and has given us a couple of personal alarms (with a torch to find the dog poo
) and has fitted a chain on the front door all for no charge so happy about that. He has also advised some extra llighting at the back of the house and a bolt on the back gate. Those will have to wait for the warmer weather a it is too cold for Mr lh to work outside.
I had a text from the hospital for my next neurolology appointment which I can download or if I reply print they will send a letter. I am not sure if its to save money or because the post is so unreliable. Anyway it is on my calendar now so I dont need a letter.I think my final shop is done and squeezed into the fridge and freezer. I will need a couple of things next week but only things like milk so there will be minimal money spent and because I have been shopping at mr s I still have my vouchers for mr t which I can use during the first week of January when hopefully mr lh will be back to giving me a lift to go shopping. I hope he will also be able to walk Bear by then as well because my legs are really suffering as are my arms where he (Bear not mr lh) pulls. I have tried all the usual training methods to get him out of the pulling but am not succeeding at the moment. I will persist though especially now I am feeling better after whatever bug we have had.Tried to deliver presents to a friend tonight but she has a migraine so will hopefully be able to do it tomorrow. Other than that and teking things to our dd I think everything is done just need to clean through the house, do some washing and ironing tomorrow.Off now to see if any surveys have popped up and then walk Bear.2 -
Good idea on the bolt for the gate & more lighting at the back.

Glad the visit went well.

A busy day. My house looks like a laundry after doing 4 loads. The house is cleanish and fairly tidy. The ironing didnt get done because I realised there was some things in the washing that would need ironing so that will be done on Sunday morning. All gifts delivered except dd & family which will go tomorrow. Brandy butter for them made and in the fridge. I have realised there are a couple of things I have forgotten so will go to the sm first thing and then get a taxi to dd. The bus doesnt go anywhere near her now so the only option is a taxi. Annoying when she only lives about two and a half miles away but too far for me to walk.Mr lh accompanied Bear and me on half his walk today which is the furthest he has been since his illness started.Checked the bank and was surprised to see our pensions for next week have been paid. I was expecting mine but not his. It wont make any difference as it wont be touched until at least the end of next week when I will pay the last council tax of the year.Thats it for tonight as I am not feeling too good. Probably done too much but there wont be too much over the next few days and I can spread it out. I hope you all have a good weekend and are not too busy with Christmas preparations.2

It worried me all the fuss about the dates payments would be made. After all they were all to be made either on or before their due dates so what was the problem. The bigger problem would be assuming they were due earlier & spending them. Of course a lot of the newspaper stories implied they were going to be paid late. Well they do like scaring people. Headlines like that are what sells newspapers after all.

Terrible nights sleep mainly due to the west which was directly on the bedroom window. Been awake since about 4am but Present swap with dd taken place. Got my last bits bits from the small and had nice taxi drivers both to and from my daughter
Sat this pm and realised the tree lights were off. Crawled under the table to find Bear must have knocked the plus so illumination has returned. He often sleeps there.
A long nap this afternoon but still feeling washed out. Hopefully a better night tonight.
The only job for tomorrow is a bit of ironing. Most of the marathon was load is dry and certainly will be by tomorrow having spent time moving things around today. Oh and I have to make a jelly for me as I don't like Christmas pudding.
So quiet evening with just dinner to cook, wash up and walk Bear later.4 -
Seasons greetings to all. I hope everyone has a peaceful and relaxed time.Ironing done, remains of the washing put away but I havent made my jelly. Tomorrow will do.Can someone tell me why, when I buy 2 pieces of steak and one is great and the other isnt mr lh alway gets the one that isnt and complains long and loud. I offered to swap but that was too simple he would rather pull faces. Duck is defrosting for tomorrow. My lounge carpet will be covered in stuffing from the soft toys Bear will receive tomorrow. Looking forward to it.3

Said tongue in cheek - next time you have steak, cook them both then cut them both in two & have half each. Of course you know that he will get the bad half of both of them.
