Dizzy, as Pigpen has said contact the police / ins company.I have no idea how to trace something taken down, maybe the teckkie board might. Sorry. As you know the local farmer was challenged, do you know who challenged him? and if so can they give you his name / address? You give that to police / ins company. DO NOT go round yourself. Most tractors this day and age, owing to their value also have trackers on them, once the police / ins company find the tractor, they can get the information from the tracking company and see where it was on the night in question / the route it took.Someone knows in your local area, any be a trip to the local pub and asking about........................always used to work in ye olden days,
I remember as a kid being sent out on my pony to the local pub, and 'putting in an ordered for dressed pheasants / pigeons! duly someone would knock at the farmhouse door in a few days, with said order, cash, no questions asked, I was only about 7 to 9 years at the time.
Well that was a waste of time going to see the diabetic nurse, she was all very nice and chatty etc, but gave me a number to ring to book a blood test, which is 3 miles away not really a problem, but they could just have given me the number when I rang and enquired, then booked me an appointment with her for 3 weeks time to discuss the results. They could have given that appointment to someone who NEEDED it.Needless to say the number is not being answered, so I'll try 1st thing in the morning.Cats fedIroning sort of half doneBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Hi all
Bit of a funny old day, bit stressed and anxious and had to deal with an upset employee who didnt want to tell me why they were upset, they are coming to see me tomorrow to talk it through when they feel a bit calmer. I have a feeling this might not be easy.
Gave up my lunch break to chat with my lovely brother who is having a few MH issues, hoping I was able to help as someone who has been there. If nothing else I was able to listen.
I must sort out my prescription tomorrow and I must also send off three Fleabay parcels. Might cycle in to work if the weather looks a bit more promising.
MM your house is stunning - and huge!! Hope it sells quickly x

OH still in the dog house.. and remaining there for the forseeable.. things were really nice.. I love having him working from home.. I love knowing he is just.. here.. Things were really nice.. and he has spoiled all that.. so I am mad about that too.. spoiling what we had, lying to me and I am just not a forgiving type of person.. he said to DD1 he didn't know how to fix it.. he didn't need to break it that was just greed and selfishness.. anyway.. angry tears are right there and I know he is going to get it tonight.. one word and the whole wall will crash..

Yes please Pigpen, I'll join your challenge. Started today, bought some tacos from M and S last month, used vouchers. The are broken when i opened them. Emailed to complain, reply to say they would respond in 48 hours. Week later i emailed again. Today got DD3 to show me how Twitter works. Should now have a ten pound voucher on it's way. Will have to see what i can find to list.
DW filled three times today, twenty something pancakes made. Knitting sewn up. And insurance people dealt with. DD3 has crashed her car and written it off! She's fine but I'm getting greyer by the day.
Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.8 -

.. I'm not even sure how tomorrow will work. it just will I guess.. The Range are getting and earful off me when I get my £100 refund!!

Urgh, I'm now in a grotty mood. Rowed with DH as he wanted a "real dinner" and not a poppety-ping one. Explain exactly to me how I'm supposed to provide a three course meal, when I don't have a working cooker!? Ridiculous man.
Anyway, I'm sulking on the "new", second-hand sofas we got off FB Marketplace so we actually have somewhere to sit as the Loss Adjusters haven't been to see us yet...coming tomorrow (10 days after we were flooded!!!) Boy, are they in for a roasting...DH will be home to see the chap too, so double-barreled attack planned.
Your house is beautiful Mademoiselle! I'm sure it will sell quickly!
Moonflower - the first post on each weekly thread is updated with the daily tasks if you'd like to follow them. I try, but I mostly fail, as my place is a total pit and i periodically just get a skip delivered... welcome, by the way8 -
Morning all. Welcome Moonflower.
Up with the lark again this morning. Grrrr, by 2.00 I shall be wanting to sleep again. Not Rosie's fault.
Having been trying to get through to the ward all afternoon with no success, I finally heard from DH yesterday evening - he persuaded someone to let him use the ward phone to ring me. He is obviously still unwell, but better than he was when he went in. Each time something like this happens, it takes him longer to recover, and of course the Covid has complicated matters further. He is being treated with new, very expensive, drugs. There's no sign yet of when he might be discharged, but the consultant who I spoke to on Monday is talking about sending an emergency pack with him in case another infection occurs - in which case I can start him on the drugs even before we call for an ambulance. That puts a heavy responsibility on my shoulders...
In other news, yesterday I
- did the dailies
- ran my study group (they are so keen!)
- went to town and paid in all the cash at the PO and cheques at the bank; bought a birthday card for DGS4, some cheap biros for me (I had completely run out of spares), some Vit E tablets for me, and a bag of very rare, gold-plated Senior dog food because I knew Rosie was getting chubby on the other stuff
- took Rosie to the vet for her 6-monthly check and picked up her worming tablets (which she kept spitting out, even when I wrapped them in cheese or chicken) and flea treatment (which she also hates), and was told that she is too chubby and needs to lose a kilo
- decided against going up the very big hill because there was a really cold wind by then and it's so exposed up there, so instead we stopped of on our way home at a seriously hilly but more sheltered park, enjoyed seeing enormous swathes of snowdrops and daffs that the Friends of the Park have planted between the trees and along the side of the brook, and Rosie had fun chasing some overweight pigeons
- moved the table in the utility and hoovered up several years' worth of cobwebs and dust from along the skirting and under the radiator (gross!)
- made and ate Welsh cakes and pancakes for my tea (very unhealthy)
- made stock from the chicken carcass and took off enough meat for 2 more meals for me
- put out the bins.
Today I have to send some emails, make phonecalls on DH's behalf, pay the gardener, go to the PO with another cheque that arrived in yesterday's post, and try to make the accounts balance.
Hope everyone has a good day xx8
