  • Always a takeaway crimbo eve! I cook every meal from scratch usually, but xmas eve is the exception. This year I am planning a xmas eve family gift box - a present to open by us all at teatime. In it will be some drink, some DVDs, some chocs, and the chinese takeaway menu! what a night!

I have been thinking about what we should eat on Christmas eve night???
I normally do a buffet tea, but this year I think I will try something different. I am going to try Nigella's glazed gammon with some butternut squash. :rudolf: :santa2:

I'm thinking takeaway would be nice and easy as well, they should be open right? Then cosy up with some xmas movies :)
  • something easy and quick as we have a lot of visiting to do on christmas eve, maybe irish stew or something to that effect

we generally will have gammon, egg and chips, or maybe a chilli. It will always be something easy, but yummy. we tend to have family around and it nice to not have a huge meal, cause you only know the next day it will.

however i like the idea of cricket on the beach with fish and chip's. So if the weather is nice i may suggest a family meet up down the beach, with a fish and chip supper to finish. i only live a 10 min drive from beach.
  • We always have heinz cream of tomato soup and buttered rolls :) always :D

and then t'pub for some drinks :D

  • I have always refused to cook on christmas eve as i cook the christmas dinner, so its up to dh to cook/buy whatever we have,
the last 3 years this has consisted of either a pizza or pasta with plain tomato sauce.

this year im planning on cooking on xmas eve so we can have something half decent so im thinking about a slow cooked chilli or slow cooked something !
