We will be having party food as its my daughter's 2nd birthday. I haven't even thought about what we'll be having yet!!! Maybe I should start
I saw two shooting stars last night
I wished on them but they were only satellites
Is it wrong to wish on space hardware
    I wish, I wish, I wish you'd care

Any way on Christmas EVE we always have chips out of the paper, our only takeaway of the year so we REALLY look forward to it. It is a family tradition as the cook always has too much to do on the day and the last thing you need is more washing up et.c

    My thinking exactly!!! :D

  • We go to the seaside on Christmas Eve, play beach cricket, and have a late lunch of sit-down fish and chips, and lashings of hot tea :j :T :D

For supper we'll have soup and fresh bread.

Lashings. Love that word, sounds like an adventure with the Famous Five. :D

I just had to read this thread twice ~ I thought you were all talking about what you have on Christmas Day in the Evening!

I was thinking " blimey , wont you all be too full!! "

My Gran always wants tea on Christmas Day! We normally eat the main meal around 1pm and it lasts a good couple of hours. By the time we get cleared up in the kitchen, we sit down for about 5 minutes then she starts talking about making sandwiches and stuff!

I normally make tea/coffee and put a plate of fancy biscuits out late afternoon as a compromise, but really she wants a proper sit down tea with sandwiches, cakes and stuff.

On Christmas Eve we normally just have a light buffet of nibbly things and watch a film together. It's mainly all cooked in advance or shop bought things, so there is little cooking involved and just a few tea plates to wash up.
Here I go again on my own....

We have a nice, traditional Domino's Pizza in our house :D

Not always as easy as it sounds. Last year was fine, the year before they were closed! Imagine the horror! I had to call the other nearest branch and sweet-talk them into delivering out of their area.

This year they are closed again on Xmas Eve. What are our traditions coming to?
  • I'm cooking a gammon joint which we have hot with baked spuds, damson chutney, buttered carrots and red cabbage. We then eat it cold on Christmas day evening. We have a goose for lunch on Christmas day but despite the fact they look huge there isn't that much meat on them. So, to supplement the leftovers we need the gammon ;)

I'll do some kind of mincemeat pudding -crumble or pie.

There will be copious suasage rolls around too (made with Delia's quick flaky pastry)
