sarahj1990 said:Thanks for the replies. I have 14 days to pay the £50.00 fine otherwise it doubles. I want to find out if I appeal the ticket and am unsuccessful in the appeal will I still have x amount of time to pay the £50.00 fine. I looked on the website of the parking company and there is no information and I called them yesterday but it just an automated machine. Any advice appreciated.
I'm counterclaiming against a parking company because of their discrimination. There's also another useful thread to read through here:

Have you read the NEWBIES thread and tried PLAN A first? This is discrimination, there is no question about that.I was under the impression that all businesses (including supermarkets and parking companies) do have a legal obligation under the Equality Act to make changes or adjustments to their rules and processes to ensure that disabled people are not discriminated against. So for example if a non-disabled person is allowed 2 hours free parking then a disabled person (where the disability means they will be slower than a non-disabled person) would/should be allowed say 10 minutes extra etc.Is the right answer.
The new parking Code of Practice that the Govt published on 7th February confirms that disabled people may need more time.
And this has already been tested against Councils, who have to offer more time for the tariff paid:

The same duty applies to Service Providers in a free car park. Supermarkets know this from before the DDA was replaced by the EA in 2010:

I received a reply from Britannia parking yesterday and they have cancel the £50 penalty. Below is a copy of the bottom section of the reply I received. All those people who replied. Thanks for your help.
We give motorist a 10 minute grace period at the end of parking event to leave the car park before aParking Charge Notice is issued, which is within the BPA guidelines.
After 120 minutes of parking, your 10 minute grace will commence, if the driver has not left the car parkby the time the 10 minute grace period has been reached, a Parking Charge Notice will be issued forbreaching the terms and conditions of the car park. Therefore, we consider the Parking Charge Notice to be valid and correctly issued.
However, this is your first Parking Charge Notice appeal, therefore we are prepared to cancel thenotice; with the understanding that you will not continue to breach the terms and conditions; as you arenow aware of the maximum stay time permitted for this car park.Yours sincerely,

To be exact I was parked in the car park for 2 hours 10 mins and 47 seconds so I did break their rules. You would have thought that only being 47 seconds over the allowed limit they would have let me off but maybe the PCN is computer generated and not checked before being sent out or they were hoping I would just pay the fine.0

Not only was the car not actually parked for over 2 hours, but what makes you believe the 47 seconds timing?
Frustrates me when people accept the timings and repeat them as if they are true. ANPR in/out cameras cannot possibly be that accurate that they are synchronised to the second. They aren't!

You did not break any rules.Even a cheap crystal oscillator will be accurate to ±20 seconds a month. Over a period of 2 hours that equates to ±0.06 seconds so actually the time will be pretty spot on because all it does is record the time the car enters and the car leaves and calculates the difference which means all that matters is it's internal accuracy in this instance. But even over longer periods considering that it will be connected to a network (that's how they get the data from the camera) it will be synchronised with a time server daily so won't ever be more than 2 seconds out over any time period.
