Hello,

I've read the newbie thread and I can't see anything related to the concerns I want to raise, so please forgive me if I'm doing something wrong.

1) I've received an invoice from an IPC member that states "photographic evidence shows the vehicle entering the location at xx:xx and leaving at yy:you. The photographs show only a picture of the front of the car and rear of the car, in total darkness, with two separate pictures of the car's license plate. There is no timestamp on any of the 4 pictures . How is this evidence without a timestamp?

2) The overstay is by 16 minutes. I'm disabled with a blue badge, should this be taken into consideration regarding any grace period?

Many thanks.

  • The IPC guidance only says drivers should be given "a sufficient amount of time".

Standard ANPR capture. There's no mileage in the argument you're moving towards (above).

Possibly, depends on the circumstances - having a blue badge does not give you any automatic rights on private land. But any additional adjustments must be argued under the Equality Act 2010, and primarily with the landowner. What kind of car park was this - retail park, hotel, hospital, railway station?

Which parking company is pursuing you?

If you need extra time due to a disability, then your first point of call should be with the landowner.
hence it is important to know who this is, what type of car park it is and so on, as mentioned above.

Yes, so get complaining to the retailer, as anyone would. It's indirect discrimination not to allow more time for the disabled drivers and clearly tell them how to claim that right.

I couldn't see any signage that indicated who the landowner was.

How would I find this out please?

    Several options:

    1) search this forum for the car park name.

    2) search the internet - google et al - for the car park name.

    3) ask HM Land Registry.

    4) ask the local council who pays the non-domestic rates on that site.

    5) ask other occupiers bordering the car park who the landowner is.

    6) probably other ways.

Keaton Rd car park, Ivybridge, PL21 9DH.

I can't post links here as a new user, but on the land registry the car park doesn't appear.

I've searched the forum, only 2 results, neither include relevant info

I've searched Google and can only see complaints, no info on land owner.

I'll see if I can ring council tomorrow
