What did the judge actually say?  Are you sure it wasn't that the claimant had to pay your gran?
I think she said because you ignored the pcn letters, so you have to pay the court fees etc etc.
But how can you call that a WIN?
She said I’m deciding in your favour , so you won’t be charged for the parking fine. Only these costs. I’m not sure what to do for my gran?

The Judge was wrong.  The Defendant is not liable for costs if she wins, unless she was deemed to have acted 'wholly unreasonably'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Judge goes your gran didn’t reply to the pcn letters you received from the car park so that was wrong on gran side. But she goes the case is in favour of the gran because the claimant can’t prove that a ticket wasn’t purchased.

That is not wholly unreasonable conduct.  Many people ignore the scam of private PCNs believing they are a scam.

She should never have been ordered to pay their costs.  Unheard of, except where unreasonable conduct is established. Judge went a step too far.

Potentially yes.  Costs money and they'd need to be able to argue why she was wrong (in law).

she kept coming to the point that your gran shouldnt have ignored it. I argued that my gran is elderly and does not really know how to respond to these letters as it looks like a scam and she receives many fake calls etc., and so the judge goes to me, why couldnt she come and ask you or her other family then for help when she received the letter. (she said it in a really patronising manner). I said I wasnt available. But i think that was bang out of order from the judge as she doesnt know my grans family situation at home(thats how i feel, i maybe wrong)

    what would you advise?
Also im not sure if its common practice, but when i requested for both of our cases to be heard at different times as I will be the lay rep for gran, the usher asked what my relationship is, so i said shes my gran. But instead the they made us have the case same time in same room with same judge, so the judge was asking questions about both cases simultaneously, few times i had to ask, are you referring to my case or my grans case.

    Did you win your case?

I don't normally advise appealing but see what @bargepole thinks as he is a costs expert and this looks like an error about a Judge  awarding costs unreasonably.
