😱..That tariff might help beat Cancer but don't reckon that'll do a lot for heart conditions

I know right, I mistook the monthly DD for the annual amount for a second,  £750... :)

It would be better if they took fixed rates off sale. I worry someone vulnerable would take a fix not understanding the implications.

....and how much actually goes to Cancer Research UK? According to the terms and conditions a maximum of £10 per year.

Alternatively, sign up for almost any other fixed rate deal you can find (not with Scottish Power) and give a tenner to Cancer Research UK yourself.

Just after Avro went under I had someone at my door who took my details until I said I didn't have and email address and used public computers at the library to access any bills using my daughters email address. A few days later the calls started up to 6 times per day, I never answered them but the true caller app on my phone registered them as a top spammer and Scottish power.

Someone please tell me what money is

Wow! It's crazy/scary to see how much a tariff can move in just one week! I signed up to the CM1 version of the Help Beat Cancer Green Fixed May 2024 tariff on Sunday (27 February) since then there has been a CM2 version (from Monday 28 February) and now we're onto the CM3 version. Below are how the prices have changed between the three in the south west region where I live. The CM1 version also had no exit fees whilst for the latter two it's £100 per fuel.

    CM1 (27/02) CM2 (28/02) CM3 (04/03)
    Elec. Standing Charge (p/day)       27.30       53.26       53.26
    Elec. Unit Price (p/kWh)       37.99       44.68       56.06
    Gas Standing Charge (p/day)       27.75       28.86       28.86
    Gas Unit Price (p/kWh)       10.45       16.29       19.04

For anyone not aware I'll also just add that these 'Fixed' deals have a clause that allows Scottish Power to end the contract any time they choose with 42 days notice. Given this, I really can't see it being a good idea for anyone to sign up to the current 'deal'.

(Yes, I am feeling glad I instigated a switch when I did!)
