[Deleted User] said:I'm so glad I fixed when I did. My old fix wasn't due to end for over a month, but I worked out the difference between what I'd used in the last month on my old tarrif , then roughly what ii may use between now and the end of the that tarrif. Then used those rough figures on the new tarrif and yes it's going to cost me about £40 + more but with the new tarrif that ends April 2023 and I won't get an increase come October 2022.
It's was a nightmare to work out but I had help from members on here and a Facebook forum.
I did all the sums myself. I still have the headache! Didn't even cross my mind to look here until today.0 -
Unfortunately this tariff is a dead duck if you're thinking of switching to Scottish Power. The T&Cs state this this tariff is only available through selected sales channels to selected existing Scottish Power customers who are contacted directly by Scottish Power and offered this Tariff. You also have to have a smart meter installed within three months.Shame that no-one bothered to tell the Chat Centre and Call Centre, neither mentioned these restrictions, each was adamant that you had to sign up via the other.2

Thanks. I am with Scottish power.
I'm not holding up hope. My new tarrif isn't much more only 1p per unit and 3p daily charge.0 -
My SP fixed tariff finishes tomorrow. On Wednesday last week, my ‘exclusive’ offer to sign up for a new 24 month fix was £206, today when I checked again it had dropped to £146, I currently pay £99 a month. Might be worth others holding off to the last minute to get a better deal.0

I am sure that the energy companies have inflation priced into any fix and will always make a profit, but with this war rumbling on, energy prices could go way up.I have gone for a SP fix until May 23, seems like a lot to pay, but all bills will be increasing.1

It's well below the standards I would expect from Which?.They've also mis-communicated the Market Stabilisation Charge that a switching customer's new suppliers have to pay to the old ones.N.
