Hi all
Thanks everyone. Out for a meal last night with 9 members of my family, it was lovely although I dont usually drink and a few glasses of wine and a late night is now having an effect on me.
Going to go out sort my wardrobe a bit - I need to be ruthless and I could do to sell a few things.
Fed up with this weather, wet snow here today and wet again tomorrow. I need to get outside!
Hope everyone is having a good Saturday x11 -
Iona.. I pour neat bleach on the floor and swish it with a wet mop.. I have black slate flooring in the kitchen but cream vinyl in the bathrooms.. and filthy people. I fill the kitchen sink with heafty bleach water and use that to clean the sink and wash the kitchen sides then mop the floor.. but I will admit I have not done that for AGES!!!Squeak left her swimmies at the pool so we are having a cuppa and heading back for that.. then buying her new trainers and then picking up my new medication which they haven't done despite having the script since yesterday.. 'oh we say 48 hours from receiving it to get it done'... well I'm saying I want it now.. I am not waiting until Monday.. what is someone took in a script like they did in the old days?? would they say 'no you can't have your medication for 2 days.. you could die of sepsis in that time!
WM not able to go on without Squeaks swimmies!
Dot having a REALLY tough day.. I had to talk her down from meltdown in dance and get her around tesc0 and then she saw the car outside the supermarket door .. and ran... !!!!!!...LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)9 -
Lost a post

It's turning out to be an expensive month. My TD appears to be joining the FF and steam mop on its way to the white goods graveyard
Silver lining: I pulled the TD out from under the worktop and cleaned that bit of the floor, using old-fashioned liquid cleaner and a bit of elbow grease. I will probably try the same recipe on the kitchen floor before buying anything else. Thanks for your suggestions, pigpen and Jazee. I'd be a bit worried about using bleach, but maybe watered-down Rag Dr solution might have the desired effect?
Rosie didn't want to walk in the sunshine for very long, so we came back in good time to be here for DS1 and DGD1+2 to call round and see if the TD is repairable. In the meantime, I've ironed 3 pillowcases

WAAAAAAAAAAYY too much weather here.. sloppy snow, rain, sunshine, clouds.. not much left out.. I'd rather have the wind we were promised tbh.. whizz those clouds away.Dot a bit calmer after a few hours of being ignored. #
Boots for some reason are limiting their shop to 3 people still.. seriously.. it's ridiculous.. I shall be changing the place my prescriptions get delivered because I can't be faffed with that insanity. They can do as they please but I shall be taking my business elsewhere.. saying they take 2 days to fill a prescription and then trying to make me stand in the freezing cold and weather is pushing my intolerant limits over the edge.post office and dinner I think..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)9 -
Piggers, try Lloyds. They do free home delivery of all prescriptions.

Hope everyone is safe.
Another busy week with work, meetings for DS2 and phone calls about the house sale. The solicitor thinks it could be completed in April/May as they are only counting from end Jan instead of when we instructed them before Christmas. I just want it over with as I’m having to check the house every few days.Airing cupboard sorted.

Ditto, sorry YL.Fayolle said:Morning all,
Belated happy birthday, YL 🎂. Twice my sieve brain meant to wish you that, and twice I forgot. I hope you had a lovely day xxRemember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
No more power cuts last night so I managed to cook dinner. Also made a lovely cake, new recipe from Tesc0 magazine and highly recommend it but check all the ingredients first as you may not have all of them https://realfood.tesco.com/recipes/red-grapefruit-and-poppy-seed-loaf-cake.html .
Put BM on this morning using some gf flour passed to me by a friend; trouble is, it is a prescription one so although gf it does have wheat in it (de-glutened....) so I will see how I react. It tasted ok for lunch; a bit fluffy!
This morning was sunny and almost wind-free so I went for a lake swim. Felt a bit chilly afterwards so have had 2 small pieces of cake during the day.
Worked through my 'flagged' email to-do list and got through quite a lot of renewals, printing out certificates and receipts etc.
Continued with a report.
Pleased to say the birds seem unconcerned by the loss of their favourite tree; they are using others, the little goldfinches are even perching on the 'replacement' tree although it is still quite small.
Mum rang me; still pretty windy this morning on the south coast but improving.
Mr N has put mastic along the top of my study window now, as putting masking tape yesterday convinced us that it was draughty.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11
