Think I'll adopt that idea too Narc0 I'm on fence watch not sure why as it's saying hello to the alleyway..seems to be practicing bowing down...lol The artificial grass is also lifting at an alarming rate - I now have waves of grass instead of flat 😜
It's absolutely horrendous now and for some reason Dave is more concerned than I am that we are on a red alert..lol
Hope everyone stays safe and has electricity/power etc..
Huge hugs xxx
Edited to add Dave has lost his shed roof in the ether somewhere..think next door might have it or the people over the back. He also stood and watched a black bag, full of stuff for the tip, fly up and disappear over our back fence. He said it looked like something out of Wizard of Oz..😲Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Hello all. Just raining here on and off.
So far today I've done one work shift, dailies, a dog walk, emptied bins, replaced toothbrushes, home admin and some council work.
Going to read now before next shift.
Stay safe and warm everyone.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
We are just on windy amber .. and on the very edge of amber/yellow.. but it is keeping the rain at bay so I'll take the wind.WM didn't get turned on because there wasn't enough to go in it.We can't get any help with picking the girls up from school because we don't have a social worker.. I will drop that sentence right there before I say rude things.
I have done nothing.. IH rang his mother and lied about the school place.. he told her we didn't know and I think it is wrong to have lied.. who or hat is he rotecting her from? if my 11 year old can handle it I am sure she can! I messaged her and told her.. I promised I would.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)9 -
I have done some flying to report 😊
Both fires cleared out and lit again. Various meals made and kitchen all tidy again. One load of washing done and over the airer by the fire. Cooked some pasta for the hens as they are freezing and fed up - they were thrilled.
I even put a bit of make up on to cheer myself up, even though we’re not going anywhere!

Happy birthday YL ..won't need any help blowing out your candles today!
I'm sitting here watching the gauge results on the river creep ever upwards. At 4pm, we need to decide whether to put in the flood gates for the paddock and open all the chicken runs to they don't drown.
Sorry about the school decision Pigpen. Can you appeal?10 -

Dizzy.. I'd just abandon ship and take the chickens.. do they wander far and wide or still inside your property?
no we can't appeal but it's fine.. we were clutching at straws really.
Dr actually rang me back.. tripled medication and added a third.. Pretty much called me a liar when I said the medication she wanted to give me I have allergy too.. it is written in my notes! Basically they want to drug me into silence lol.. I'll need rehab by the summer at this rate!
Beasts collected.. I did not get to post office.. I just had OH get me the box down with the second item in so I can package that.. and hopefully summon energy to go post it and maybe trot to opticians with Pixies wonky specs and to pick up my prescription .. Boog was supposed to get them earlier but I'm not sure they got anyones but their own...

Hi all
Thanks for the birthday wishes, bit of a strange old day, weather too foul to do much and sitting here wondering how long the garden fence can hold out is not very relaxing. So we went to visit my parents for a bit.
Out for a meal tonight in a pub high up on the moors, hoping its not snowing up there. DS2 is trying to get home but the trains are carnage he says. I dont fancy driving into York to get him if he gets stuck there as its a good 45 minutes each way.
Hoping that everyone stays safe and that the wind drops soon xx11 -
pigpen said:Narco.. Moomin said you were lovely and listened and didn't 'huff' like many of the teachers at college who just think everyone is full of excuses. You didn't talk down to her, you spoke to her as an adult which she appreciated, being so tiny she often is spoken to like she is 10.
Many of the students I assess are in there 20s or 30s and I think the complexity is due to a wide range of factors, many of which are because more people are getting to uni who, 20yrs ago, wouldn't have considered it. Obviously by the nature of my job I am seeing those who are hoping to be eligible for extra support.....basic signs of dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD are fairly straightforward but now I'm having to give much more thought as to whether multi-languages, culture, mental health, blended families, low academic potential, lack of independence etc are affecting the signs I am seeing. When I first started assessing, initially in a community setting (e.g. probation), then in FE, there were fewer of these other factors to cloud the picture; now I have to be extra careful. And while I did my own Master's while working full time, I have reservations about some of the young single mums I see who are working, raising children and doing a degree as well as having a previously undiagnosed difficulty; it doesn't give them the best chance really, although I understand and admire them wanting to better themselves. Fascinating anyway.
So, flying wise I have now swept and mopped the kitchen floor, put a few things away in various rooms, finished and emailed a report. Done a load of admin. Mr N has put masking tape over the edge of my study window as a temporary draught excluder. We have just done a quick walk round the garden to check everything. I pulled a load of next door's ash branches out of our pond and Mr N has had to cut down a tree near the patio. It died a couple of years ago, but we wanted to keep it for another year while its replacement grew big enough for the birds to perch on as it was their lookout point before alighting on the bird feeders. However it had leaned at an alarming rate since this morning and we didn't want it ending up in the conservatory.....
Had a power cut earlier , thankfully only short lived so I've just re-booted the computer. Have put the range on so it might be hot enough to cook dinner if we get another power cut.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11
