    UPDATE!

Had a letter from the court listing a hearing for the end of the year!

Then this morning the solicitors called me asking if I wanted to have a "Without Prejudice" conversation. To which I said no! im happy to go to court.

Then an hour later I received an email with a notice of discontinuance!

Thanks for all your help and input!

    Just seen this, GREAT NEWS
The famous DISCONTINUE legal strikes again, it's getting to be like the Pink Panther films

Is this really what the SRA want as members ..... do the HM courts want serial timewasters ?

I would imagine DCBL are now the laughing stock of the other so called legals who dabble in the great parking scam

UKPC ? what other legal would take this rubbish on ....... The DISCONTINUE firm of course

After submitting defence and requesting an SAR, do I just wait the courts to send me a court date?

    Welcome!

You need your own thread. This is not where to post about your own case.

    But first:

    Revisit 2 sticky threads please.

    1.  The Template Defence sticky tells you about the first 12 steps and what to do and expect.

    2.  The NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST sticky (second post only, all about court) has a red capitals heading called something like:
IMPORTANT : KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN

...and under that red heading is a wealth of info including bargepole's court procedures thread walking you through it all.

    And finally:

...please come back in August to take part in the Government's Public Consultation about the level of parking charges and the banning of the false £70 add-on.  We need to respond in hundreds to drown out the parking firms' bleating.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

This UKPC/DCB Legal pattern is now emerging, the same pattern that Highview/CP Plus/GroupNexus/DCB Legal has evidenced itself over the past few weeks.
    • Court claim issued
    • Defence completed
    • Hearing date given
    • Witness Statement deadline dictated by the court
    • Phone call from DCB Legal to defendant
    • Email to defendant from DCB Legal with 'Without Prejudice Offer to Settle'
    • If no response from/refusal by defendant, email from DCB Legal - 'Notification of Discontinuation'
    • Confirmation of discontinuation from the court follows
Common denominator - DCB Legal!  The finest example of everything that's wrong with the roboclaim culture that now seethes in the private parking cesspool.
I am researching and trying to find the 12 point step process, so thank you for your advice so far. Are there any cases that went all of the way to court, or is discontinuation 100% to the best of your knowledge?  Many thanks again, you people are helping so many of us.

@Netty2771, why not just follow the guidance you were given on your own thread instead of quoting from an eighteen months old post?
Here are a few selected words from your own thread...
...what you expected, when you read the first 12 steps in the Template Defence thread.
...what most posters do when at your stage (this person knew what to expect and do because they read the first 12 steps in the Template Defence thread first post)
Doesn't that make it clear that you should be reading the Template Defence thread?
  • I have clearly annoyed you which wasn't intended. I am pretty new to this site having only two posts to my name and I am trying to learn. I don't know if this comment should have an @yourname to get to you let alone the etiquette. I was just reading successes and case studies as advised and asked a question. I won't post on old threads in the future.

Parking fine phone calls texts and letters from D C B L
I parked in a hospital car park November 2022 my husband was taken ill and sadly passed away I parked in a disabled parking as I have a blue badge. In late 2023 I recived a parking fine letter for £170, I appealed and explained why I was at the hospital and the death of my husband,
Due to my own ill health I went to live with my daughter i lost the correspondence from DCBL but to be honest I have very poor health and never gave DCBL an other thought, then in mid 2024 I started getting  letters from DCBL threatening court action. But I was in and out of hospital and dealing with these letters was not a priority they were upseting then they stopped.
Now yesterday 14th july 2025 after almost a year the phone calls have started again texts saying to ring them, that they are deciding what to do about my debt
I am 81 year's of age recoverying from a heart attack have on going health problems. This time the texts and phone calls have really upset me as I am not able to cope the same ,any advice would be appreciated.

First of all, you should start your own thread so it doesn't become confused with other posters.  Is it DCB Ltd or DCB Legal?  If you read the NEWBIE sticky fourth post, you can see all the laughable debt letters from DCB Ltd.  Secondly can you tell us the parking company and what you have received specifically.  You can safely ignore debt collectors, they have no powers.  Block their phone number on your home line and mobile.  You need to take action if you receive a letter before claim or a N1SDT claim form.
