Child & Co RBS Branch to close

Ah, fair enough. Well at least you'll have a flashy card (and chequebook, although I'd be staggered to see anyone of your age using one o' them!) which, let's be honest, is the only real point of the exercise :-)ForumUser7 said:
Yeah, but I have a Digital Regular Saver with the Newcastle branch too, so it'd just be a bit of a pain to close my current account.gary1312 said:
You could always close your Newcastle account and open another Child one as well if (like me) you keep two current accounts?ForumUser7 said:
Ah - that's a shame - looks like I'll be stuck with the standard (now closed) Newcastle branch as my home sort code even when I get the child's select. But still, at least I can get the child's select 🤷🏻♂️ It also fixes the child's or Drummond's first conundrum[Deleted User] said:I decided to test this by opening a new savings account. It would appear that – contrary to what I was previously made to believe – it is indeed your oldest account that determines your home branch, not the latest one.I applied for Child’s in 2021 and Drummonds in 2022. The account I opened today – without selecting the SC myself – is at Child’s.
Even if I was to apply for child's, then close the Newcastle branch account, my oldest account with them would then default to my digital regular saver - unless they look at current accounts only to determine it

I end up using chequebooks quite a bit still haha - any postal applications, I tend to send them a cheque with my forms as then I don’t have to remember to do the initial deposit later.gary1312 said:

Card-wise - I’m just glad it’ll show in Apple Pay - it looks very smart!

Child & Co cheques look rather lovely in a wedding card.ForumUser7 said:

Debit card for my new account arrived today and I'm happy to report it is a Child & Co card. Thanks to all contributors to the thread, especially @WillPS
Not exactly the most serious banking matter in the world but a good bit of fun and certainly ideal for me as I like NatWest/RBS accounts but find their cards and stationery rather horrid!2 -
Does anyone have a link to the application form for Child & Co. This thread goes back sometime and wondering how to compete it. Thank you.0

I believe you need to search by post code rather than sort code now?1

Odd one, this. I've held a Select, and then converted to Reward, account at Liverpool Dale Street since 2017. As thread contributors know, I opened a Child & Co Select, followed by another in the past couple of weeks. Two days ago I opened a Digital Regular Saver, expecting it to be Liverpool as per your findings with your new account.....but it's the Child & Co sort code! Opened a Flexible Saver yesterday......also a Child & Co account.ndrw said:I decided to test this by opening a new savings account. We need more data points! @WillPS are you happy to open a savings account in the name of science?1
