Quick question please regarding Oxbury bank, I have 10 days left to fund my two-year fix savings account, but I first wanted to see if anyone knew whether this means I have 10 days to make lump sum payment or can I make several as long as it's within the 10 days?
I've emailed Oxbury, but they will take a day or 2 to respond
Oxbury has an online chat service you can use.
  • I'm trying to add more to my Oxbury but my deposit window is until tomorrow and a withdrawal I have requested might not come through until afterwards 😭
I had the same issue with DF Capital. I spoke to them and they extended the deadline. They were extremely helpful. Whether Oxbury would have the same flexibility and customer service I don't know.
  • Slightly off/on topic

Currently looking at a fixed ISA (4.30%) vs Easy Access (4.84%), I currently have with Chip

Could someone please clarify that if I only earn upto £12,570pa (tax free allowance) I can also earn an extra £5000 (tax free) interest on savings too?

    So essentially £17,570 in total

This is how I've understood it

    Kind regards

Been delaying it a while, but finally decided to go and open a Metro 5.91% 1 year or 18month fixed bond up.

5.8% now. Must have been pretty recent, as MSE's table still has it at 5.91%,. but it's 5.8 when you click into it!

Yep caught me out. I'd delayed for a mixture of sheer and complacency and to see if anything might come from yesterday.
Oh well, negligible odds in the scheme of things for the level i'm in for, and it's still the top rate in fairness.

I have messaged them about this , and to date have had no reply .
I opened up a second account with JN when logged in, it showed immediately. I did message them as the first deposit did not show after 3 days. It took 2 days to respond, saying they had been "doing maintenance". It had been credited.

If you messaged by "secure message" it may take a couple of days to get a reply.
Six days and still no reply to my secure message.
I'm exactly the same. Still no reply. I don't hold out any hope as I never got a reply from a previous secure message 3 weeks ago.
But to give us 5.5% when it clearly said on signing up it was 5.9% is out of order.

Still no reply to my secure messages, but I got through on the phone almost instantly yesterday. Took me by surprise after my 50min+ wait with no answer last time. I told them I don't have the confidence to deposit a large sum given no answer to secure messages or telephone call. She apologised. My 3 year fix is showing 5.9% but I cannot see me putting enough in it with the experience I have had to make it worth while. Shame as it is a much better rate on a 3 year than anywhere else now. I asked for my £1 test payment back, will see how quick they send it.
  • Ref the NS&I 6.2% interest offering a few months back and currently withdrawal of that offering.

I'm aware apparently NS&I achieved the required amount of investment they wanted in that tranche and withdrew it.

Reference the autumn statement, I think I understand the government hasn't allowed for inflation on many services, so either more real cutbacks reductions of services in the next period or they will indeed need more funding and my guess is they will need more funding that currently planned.

Am I correct that NS&I funding this borrowing is convenient and cheap for the government and could indeed capture a few more votes at the next election if they were to maybe bring out another 6.2% or even 6.5% offering in the next period and by doing this may actually help inflation to drop.

Plus the government will be getting plenty of 20 and 40% income tax back on these NS&I offerings.

So any views welcome, will the next offering on NS&I be 6.2% or lower or higher?
