Best value toilet roll?

Toilet roll is quite expensive considering I use it to w.. alright without details. I used to be buying 9 rolls tesco value for £1.90 but I haven't seen it in store or online for ages, I assume they don't do it anymore.
Toiler roll usage in my house is quite high so I'm looking for best quantity/quality value for money. I tried to do the math myself but there are different lengths, thickness, some claim to be double efficient, and so on... So here is my question, where do you get your toilet rolls from? Bulk order from the internet? Something off the shelf at supermarket?
I have Tesco, Asda, and Lidl near me. I'm near Sainsbury about twice per month but never shop there.
I ordered toilet roll off amazon once but quality was so poor I'm still recovering from this experience.
Thoughts?

Tesco do 9 roll Spring Force, which is their value range, at £2.09 Aldi price match .

Eithr of those nearby ?In my experience they often have reasonable quality packs of 18 rolls for around £4 - I can't remember the brand name(s), they may be exclusive to those stores.0

Nicky in home bargains are good value. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.3 -
The Izal medicated trading paper that we had in schools in the seventies must have been chosen based on cost, have you tried that?6

Also sold in Farmfoods if OP has a branch nearby. I think it may be in Wilkos too although never seen large packs there.
I don't have those in Northern Ireland unfortunately.1 -

It didn’t so much wipe your bottom as smear the faeces around a bit, and give you the odd paper cut.
Very cheap though.3 -
I find tesco luxury soft to be better value than andrex, cushelle or the cheap quilted brands. Looking at the sheets per roll, they come in at 220 (for the plain 'blue', the shea butter or quilted is only 160), while normal andrex is 190, cushelle is 157, little duck is 160 and the velvet classic is only 150.
They've also started doing 'double rolls' of the plain tesco one, with 440 sheets. It's £7.65 for 12, but that's still cheaper per sheet than the velvet classic at £6 for 24. So beware big packs with tiny rolls! 18 rolls of 150 sheets at £4 is slightly worse value than 12 rolls of 440 sheets at £7.65. (Never bought the b&m stuff, I'm speculating! Edit: The Internet reckons Nicky is 170 sheets per roll, so less than £4.43 for 18 is cheaper than the tesco luxury soft.)
While the spring force is also 220 sheets, its just a little too thin and nasty, so we end up using far more. The regular own brand is the best mix of quality and value in our house.
I agree that they really don't make it easy to compare prices with so many variables.5 -
