    Hello everybody,

Just got home. I've been out tonight to DGS music/dance family night. OS, XDIL & DD attended too. He danced tonight :j :D. He was so cute. I have got some lovely photo's which I"ll download soon. He cried when we said goodbye because he wanted to come back to Ninny's house. I heard him all the way down the street. :(

Much cooler here today. Finished my ironing. I hope to do the groceries tomorrow. If DH up to it he can come too. He's a good pack mule & there's nothing wrong with his arms. :D No sign of the snake today but I killed the spider. Yes, it was a nasty one.

Master Mix Well done & :santa2:to Mrs Mix.
ageandjo I find a good brisk walk to blow the cobwebs away very good.
Haribo I hope you managed to get some more glue yesterday and finished off your cards. :D I bet your DD's were glad to get their dolly pegs back. ;)

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :santa2:Morning!

Happy Birthday to Miss PP! :bdaycake:

Brrr! Very cold and frosty here, just in from walking the pup at least she doesn't get muddy when the ground is frozen. Enjoying a cup of hot chocolate :coffee:, just worked out that I don't have to heat up any milk just chuck in a spoonfull of dried milk with the hot choc mix and add hot water, so long as it is stirred well all is ok!

(((Hugs))) to ageandjo I used to get very down this time of year and think the shorter hours of daylight are responsible, now with a puppy to walk I get out in the daylight everyday I can and so far I am coping well. I also have a daylight bulb fitted in my desk lamp.

Yesterdays veg box contained parsnips, carrots, potatoes, onions, beetroot, clementines, apples and bananas. Plans for the contents:-

    Parsnips - curried parsnip soup
Beetroot - choc beetroot cake, beetroot and carrot salad
Carrots - beetroot and carrot salad, rest into freezer
    Onions - into soups
    Potatoes - spicy potato wedges
Apples - have so many now so will make apple pie filling and freeze
Bananas - Banana bread, banana and custard

Decoration for the day is a sparkly star to hang in the hallway.

Oh puppy finally asleep! phew I can get on now without having to throw endless toys for fetching or tug of war! Love her to bits really!

    Have a lovely day

    Catz x

  • Morning Guys!

    What a cold one today!

DD said to say "thanks" for all the birthday wishes. She was pleased with her pressies and OH did her favourite scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast:D I cant believe she is a teenager...how old are we:eek:

Had to venture out to the hospital this morning and its freezing out there. OH nearly stacked it pushing me as the floor was so icy. The cleaner had been, so we came back to a lovely clean home.

WM has been on twice and am using the TD today...naughty I know, but I still have another 1-2 loads to do to empty the basket as bedding change day today.

OH has gone for his hair cut. Its £10 a time locally. It used to be free when he shaved it himself and was bald, but he did look like a thug:D

Anyway, going to try have a sleep as not feeling too great today.

    Hugs to all.

    Morning all,

Cold here too but no frost, just wind.

DGS at home with his mammy to-day, she says he is a little better. Off to get batteries for OHs hearing aids...he doesn't seem to hear anyway so wonder whats the point! He will take ages to get ready and don't want to be out all day, meeting DSIL for quick lunch.

Got €97 refund from tax this am...need to claim more as paid €3300 for OHs new aids last year so that should be nice little refund...trying to keep it for Australia fund but must claim before 31st Dec.

Will make spaghetti sauce later on for DD4s dinner, although she will be late in college today as DGS2 is with his daddy after school.

Hugs to all in pain of any kind...Ageandjo, be nice to yourself, agree with whoever said to go to doctor, not always possible to 'pull yourself together' without help.

    Have a nice day all

Morning all.......((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) if you need one.........

    Happy birthday to Miss PP.

Not sure what is going on, all yesterday and again this morning the site kept closing on me, got in this time so decided to post quick before it goes again.

Its a nice bright clear morning, waiting for the post before we nip to Mr T's.

I may be a cynic, but we have the Lord Mayor coming next Wednesday, nice of him to come right in the middle of me cooking Christmas lunch for the masses, suddenly, all the outstanding jobs in the complex are getting done. May be he should come once a week???????????????????

Many years ago I re-dressed a doll for my mother, in the fond hopes that she might, at some point, give me the doll, but I was to be sadly disappointed. She sold her for £20. She was a french bisque doll and worth a lot more than that, but knowing my mother I was not at all surprised.....just very hurt. Yesterday a friend I met through my new embroidery machine offerred me a very similar doll. She collects them and has two the same...........I cannot believe that a virtual stranger should be so kind. I sent her my address and lo and behold she lives about an hour away from us, and has now offered me a second doll. How generous is that???????????????? I cannot explain just how I feel, she has also offered me fabric to re-dress one of the dolls and a book of patterns...................I could cry, a person I do not really know can be so generous, and trusting, these dolls are antiques and valuable.

Back to other things.............shopping at Mr T's a quick visit, my proper shop will be next Friday and then I will not have to go near the shops again until I do my usual big shop in January..............hoooooorrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy.

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH theres the post, a cheque I hope??????? Once again my hopes were dashed, it was posted on Saturday with a first class stamp, I hope to goodness it hasn't got lost!!!!!!!!
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
  • Good morning:D

It's a beautiful sunny day here in London. Very cold (frost was really thick this am) but lovely and crisp. Shez, across the water.

Getting a bit worried by talks of panic petrol buying and blockades. So in just a minute I'm off to fill my tank and help perpetuate the problem:o I do hope it doesn't become a problem again, I have to drive down to my Dad next week.

Happy Birthday Miss PP! Just think, PP, in 7 years time (or less!!) you could be a granny:D

Congrats to DS mix on his exam results. Less of the *mum* I ain't that old mrs mix:p But good girl to do as you're told:rotfl:

Aussie, hope DH's mouth is better. I know you want him resuming kissing duties;)

Off to hit the shops ( and petrol station!), back later,

    CM

  • Ageandjo....I hope you feel better soon. (((hugs)))

Hello Lucie and Mrs F. :santa2::D

Aussie....I'm surprised you have any cobwebs with all the spider murdering you do.:p

Thanks for sending me your latest pic by the way. ;):p:D
  • Happy Birthday Miss PP

Churchmouse - an action group have planned peaceful protests for Saturday - it shouldnt be too disruptive at all - what is causing the problems at the moment is people panick buying. The group are doing a small protest first but will step it up after Xmas if the goverment dont listen. The reason the petrol has risen recently is due to problems in the Middle East and the £ against the $. The price has fallen a little this week and will fall again next week. The goverment cant do much at the moment but I hope that they forgo the 2p tax increase that is planned for next year.

For our company petrol problems are disastrous - we are going on holiday in Jan and hope it is all sorted by then.

Been good so far today - have done dailies and some paperwork, just about to do my personal accounts. OH is in the shower and as soon as he is out we are shooting into town to see DS sing. Have got fingers crossed that we can park alright.

Am quite cold in my office at the mo - think may have to turn the heating up.

Forgot to say earlier that Xmas tree is up and the lounge is looking very festive.

AUSSIE - you brave lass! Killing a spider! I'm very impressed.

CATZNINE - I'm going to look into getting a daylight bulb for my desk lamp; I'd never thought of it before but it is a great idea. Are they easy to buy? I could do with one for my knitting corner in the sitting room. I find the older I get the more I am affected by light levels - I don't know if that's age or something else!

CSARINA - what a lovely lady; it brought a tear to my eye to read about the dolls. She obviously knows that they are going to a good home and will be truly appreciated. Please post some photos of them when you can.

Well, I've just topped up my petrol tank just in case the fuel protest really takes off. The Government could help a lot with the cost of petrol and diesel if they just reduced their tax grab from it. Everytime the price goes up, they get their 66% worth and that's what people are protesting about. We pay the highest tax on road fuel in Europe. I remember years ago when they were trying to encourage people to change to diesel; the powers that be promised that diesel would always be cheaper than petrol but, of course, it's not. They like to tell us they need extra as a 'green' tax and I'd believe them if they hadn't just agreed another runway for Heathrow and do nothing to encourage us out of our cars, such as provide free school buses for all children, reliable and convenient public transport, and, of course, stop jetting around the world the way they do. With all the communication technology at our fingertips, I can't believe that ministers can justify all their foreign trips. They themselves don't believe in global warming or they would take convincing action - they just want the rest of us to pay more. Well, that's my second rant of the day!

Anyway, I'm going to have some lunch now then go to the blood donor clinic, so will pop back later.
