Hi all
Drove up onto the moors and did an hours walk in the most foul weather imaginable! There was sun when we set off but it quickly became driving rain which turned into wet snow. Thank goodness for decent waterproofs. I loved every minute of it.
Home to light the fire and hunker down with my book. Food inventory done, we have lots of food in, mealplan for the week sorted. Lots to be thankful for.11 -

IMO there needs to be a revolt - this 'rebate' which we ALL 'pay back' whether or not we get the rebate is the work of fools and nincompoops. JUST CUT VAT
Sorry to hear you're plague ridden, Dizzy. GWS wishes coming your way xx
I went to church this morning, then I
- delivered an application form and two birthday cards, all to different addresses
- offloaded two enormous bags of no-longer-wanted recipe books and a huge stockpot at a CS in town that conveniently opens on Sundays
- got a refund for a ceramic knife that I bought last week which I discovered can't go in the dishwasher (fortunately before I opened the packaging)
- sorted lunch and sent DH out to play (possibly in a minefield - I don't know which wargame was planned)
- cleared the books and CDs from the shelves in the LR, revealing the dust behind
- and moved all the meat and fruit from DH's old FF in the utility (it must be 12yo and has started making horrible noises, so I'm fully expecting it to expire at any moment) into the much smaller freezer in the kitchen, following Fayolle's example and shoehorning everything in that matters.
I've also finished this week's Church Times crossword - no mean feat!
Rosie needs her walk now. She was a refusenik yesterday because of the pop guns, so absolutely must get some exercise today. It's windy and cold but sunny. Not much storm here, thank goodness. Glad I don't live on the edge of a cliff.
I'll see you all later on the other side xx10 -
Took the beasts out.. we went dinosaur hunting in the park.. in the freezing cold, hail and rain.. taking a hail stone to the eyeball is NOT a fun thing. The playground was empty which mine LOVED and went crazy.. they were jumped on by a muddy dog.. the dogs mum was trying to keep her down and I said it's just a bit of dirt, it's fine let her be fussy.. so she was.. bit of mud never killed anyone.. it's the lot of mud causes problems and they were already fairly filthy and wet.. I swear wearing wellies gives them free rein to become actual piglets!
Everyone bathed, washing hung up,
Dizzy.. those natural anti-bodies are better than anything fake even the scientists agree.. Meem skipped our contamination 6 months after having it herself and us exposing her will have boosted her immunity again.. I told her she was very welcome and she can return the favour in a few months if she wants. I hope you feel better soon.. don't push yourself!! rest when you need to the world won't end if you take a day off xxx We prescribe lots of fluids and making sure your sofa and bed are still comfy xxx I know several people who did not catch it from their bed partners.. he may be right!
I am freezing.. we are getting the beasties in fluffy jims and getting school stuff ready now and they can have an early night.. Twinkle is being a total douche again.. I am so fed up of hearing her whine.

House blitzed and polished and a lot of sorting of a muddle achieved. Cats flea'd. Twiggle just sighed and said, 'Whatevs." Higgs is furious and won't speak to us and for the first time in his life refused food. He made up for that later. Lodger in, Layla walked. That's it for this week. See you all on the other side.
