Evening turtles,
Busy day today. Woke up to notifications on my phone about everything in Ukraine. Decided to listen to podcasts rather than the news, it makes you feel so powerless
Had a busy day in the office with colleagues in and out doing various bits and bobs. Decided to treat myself to lunch at a Japanese place that I like. Got the go ahead for my bunny's insurance claim which is good as I put that cost on my credit card so should be able to clear it off once it comes through.
Put myself forward for an extra shift at my part-time job tomorrow evening. Figured I have nothing on so might as well.12 -

Took 3 bags (books, minor medical and tins) and a suitcase (half clothes, towels and a bathmat to fill it up) to my house. Posted off 4 packs of photos. Unpacked and put away 4 bags and 2 suitcases. Went to buy food - 2 sandwiches, 2 prawn salads, extra salad bits, apples and a small pack of drinks (rather than buy expensive ones when I'm out) and paper cups. Went back to the house to eat.
Went to the library, got a photocopy of the death certificate to post out to mum's private pension people, returned one book. Film club is still on Fridays but the nice people using the room let me have a much needed sit down (a man at the library counter said I sounded as though I'd been running - no just a slow hobble makes me that breathless).
Nothing on display in the gallery or I'd have gone round. Back to the house and added a few little jobs to my list but was tired and my shoulder was aching (trying to further reduce the amount of painkillers I take) so gathered together the things I was bringing back. Persuaded DS3 to do the meter readings.
Had a sit down when I got back, then planted some bulbs in the pots beside the path (fun), finished my book (fun), boiled my eggs (looking after myself). Attempted 4 small tasks but not much progress. Gave up with landlord insurance (I was having to put that I'd 'owned' it for less than a year, but it was my grandma's house, so has been in the family for at least 90 years) and the tenant's been living there for 28 years so I don't think he's going to start wrecking the place or not paying.
Phoned my brother. He thinks he has an email address (I need it for the probate form) but doesn't know what it is and can't open his email (niece has to do it for him). I tried the homeless charity about collecting the furniture but the person I needed wasn't available. Ate my sandwich (had curry later) and started a new film. Only watched a bit, then changed into my clean nightie and dressing gown and put all the rest of my clothes in the wash (I have a clean dress and tunic and brought a t-shirt back from my house). Have cleared one metre of kitchen worktop and sprayed it, the front and side of the fridge-freezer and the doorframe. Cut a length off the blackout curtaining bale at my house and cut it up for cleaning rags whilst watching the film.
So I've made a start, ticked off some things from my list, edged a few things a bit further forward and did a good mix of tasks including fun bits and that's plenty to be grateful for today. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage11 -
Morning turtles
Just been having a quick catch up on everyone's news.
I had to go into work on weds then drove to see my family after work. It took 6 hours to do 220 miles! Not a pleasant journey as part of the road was closed and i lost the diversion so was driving down unfamiliar narrow country lanes in the dark. Had a nice time with my parents and went out for tea with my sisters and all their children yesterday which was lovely. We don't get together often enough. I then drove home and was back at midnight!
I achieved a NSD on Weds. I have spent nearly £100 on petrolHeating has been off since Tues. I'm WfH today.
Gratitudes - enjoying time with family which felt like a bit of respite from RL; my sis for treating us all to tea; finding a nice gift for a friend's birthday next month; WfH today after 2 long journeys and 2 late nights

Thankful for the NHS (bit sore after my op but not too bad), for squirrel watching (we have a chunky adult one visiting us a couple of times each day), for sorting some paperwork (filed some and shredded some), for having a date for my post op results (late March), for being signed off meaning I can lounge on the chaise longue for some time yet, for afternoon naps.
