No Gas Meter

As someone else suggested, I'd be interested to find out what is behind that panel where the meter box should be - could well be a gas supply and meter - could just be a bodge job if you say the builder wasn't great.
OP, are you saying that you don't know/have never known where your gas isolation valve is? That's a bit of a problem.... what if you have a leak or other emergency and want it shutting off? Surely having an isolation valve would be in building regs or something similar?
Also agree in getting whoever services your boiler round to see if they can trace the supply and locate the mysterious meter and isolation valve.0 -
We are due a boiler service and will get them to look into it. It is not in the garage as my garage is a separate building about 10 meters from the house. My friend with the same house as me is paying about a third of what I do for my gas, but he is with BG and I am with Eon. I have raised it with Eon as at the end of last week but have yet to hear back from them. In terms of forcing the plate off where the gas meter should be afraid DIY stands for destroy it yourself in my case. Luckily never had casue to find the shut off valve.0

Until you get an accurate meter reading any comparison with your neighbour is pointless - then you can start to compare apples with apples.
I do hope you get a pleasant surprise when all this is resolved but the opposite may be the case.
I suspect that rendered board is secured by a screw at each corner - the builder probably broke the door.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
Can you open the meter box that is there and post a picture of what’s in it?

How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)2
