Servicing costs for a '68 plate BMW M4 Competition

Pennies on a BMW M4 Competition being marketed for sale at BMW Main Dealer - this is £80k car new and most buyers would be really put off by a used model offered that is not 100%. There are only about 300 of these cars currently listed on BMW website and the cheapest is still £28k for a 2014 model which is not all that far off the entry price for brand new poverty spec 3-series. You've got to want the M Competition to choose it, and you are more likely to want it if it is clearly in top-notch condition.utopia55 said:

You were told that on the other thread you created so i'm not sure why you're now unaware of it.
You've also quoted the full retail price of it. The BMW dealer would be buying that in at trade price, and they'd also reclaim the VAT. I'd be surprised if they were paying more than £600 for it ex VAT.
They would do that just like they would repair alloys and repair scratches and scuffs as part of refurbishments.
If the car needed it, it would have been factored in to their buying price. When we sold our A45 back to the supplying Mercedes dealer the front splitter was damaged. They were up front about it and said the offer price would have to reflect sorting that out too, which they subsequently did before it went on the forecourt.
Still, they palmed you off with a "free" bodywork protection kit, so not too bad, eh?1 -
You’re not giving up, are you? Everyone knows what’s going on here, you’ve gone down exactly the same route as you did last time, and you are getting more and more inconsistent as your story falls apart.utopia55 said:

That's what real garages do to real cars and sell them to real customers. Where as the OP is making it up as they go along.motorguy said:

Agreed. It would have been factored in to the refurb costs when they were and if they didnt want to do a repair they'd be buying it at trade price ex VAT, not full retail price.Grumpy_chap said:

First place i looked is doing them for £803 ex VAT, so i'm sure the main dealers are buying them in at significantly below that.

I've just done a search on darkmatter101, the Lexus thread is remarkably similar to this one and apparently darkmatter101 has used utopia as an alter ego.utopia55 said:
They have removed the car from the main dealer website as I have put down a deposit.DB1904 said:
Yeah post it now so we can see it again on Wednesday. Come to think of it let's see the other pics you've taken and the advert selling the car.utopia55 said:

As in two days time? Don't forget to show the damage to the splitter.utopia55 said:Not sure why people here are so paranoid and sceptical its just a car. I was going to do a youtube video so happy to show it when I collect the car this Wednesday
Thats not going to happen.

There is some wonderful irony in this thread. Some people should really take a bow fer nothing else apart from being brilliant at irony.OP, do feel free to post the photo. I can't see any BMW main dealer having anything on their forecourt with damage being up for sale. It's just so bad for image. If they couldn't/didn't want to repair it, they would be shipping it out for someone else to sell.1

They have knccked off £500 from the asking price to reflect the damaged front splitter0

Its that price for a reason - they can, and do, generate big bills on occasions.utopia55 said:Change of tune, a friend of my partner has said the M4 is fairly comfortable so my partner and I, have decided to make the compromise in ride quality and added insurance/maintenance costs for the sake of looks.
BMW extended warranty can be had for £1800 if we decided to keep the car for more than a year but seems overly expensive. Been looking around at third party warranty which comes out significantly cheaper and will cover all repairs so seems viable financially. Instructed the dealer to carry out their BMW Protect X paint protection and interior protection package so all ready for collection this week.
Curious as to you logic about spending probably £500 on a £20 Protect X package when you're so keen to cut costs?0
