I used them a few times when i first signed up but got a bit sick of them. My nearest participants are a Morrisons (with an in-store bakery) and a Cooplands (bakery). I got bored of getting bags full of nothing but (very close to, or already stale) bread rolls.
But I got a great deal the other day. OH and I were waiting for a train in the morning and for some reason it occurred to me to check the app, even though I haven't used it for ages. There was one for the Upper Crust stall in the station that we were stood right next to, ready in 5 mins, for £4. The chap picked up 3 baguettes (5.99 each) from the normal counter (ie not a "left over" section out the back or anything) and handed them to me while people around me were paying 5.99 each for the same items.
We got a hot sausage baguette, which we shared straight away for breakfast, plus ham & cheese and chicken & bacon salad baguettes that we saved for lunch. Bargain!4 -
I used if for the first time today, Greggs (£2.59), had ordered from Aldi before but they cancelled.
Is this the normal? as haven't a clue what to expect.

I froze the Cajun rice, piri piri, and one of the pesto
The ham and egg roll was bad, two thin slices of cheap ham, three slices of egg very thin spread of mayo tiny bit of lettuce and translucent slice of tomato & cue. How anyone pays over £3 for it!
The jam doughnut was good
Mexican chicken flatbread was fine, I put it in a toasty bag and warmed it up, chicken was fine but the mixed peppers contained just one this slice of green pepper
The pesto pasta was also fine, I don't like cold pasta so heated it till the mozzarella was melting.

Used Camden foods at Euston station (like above all taken from the normal counter)
Cheese & Tom croissant, it was ok nothing special seems strange having a savoury croissant. Egg and tomato baguette that was lovely, one of the most fillings I've had from a store bought and a bacon roll, it was cold so kept it and warmed it up in microwave next morning and was good Total cost £3.15

I have only heard of this very recently and yesterday tried local coop. I was very disappointed as had some ready made meals that needed to be eaten on the day and small milk that had to be drunk on the day. At least I had a free bag. most of the stuff unfortunately had to go to the bin.
I was hoping to see more ingredients, veg, fruit, maybe a dessert. But it's hard having two different 1 person meal portions and mash potato portion. It would be too much for single person, but if you have larger family, it just won't work either, as you still have to have a meal for others.
I should read through this thread but was wondering, if there is a list of recommended places to go?0 -
Milk in my experience has never gone off on the day it expires, also the ready meals you could have frozen
What a waste4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.5 -

I went a bit bakery-mad with TGTG in town this weekend - London has so many choices and it would be a nice treat for family who were gathered at home.
Most were good value but I cannot recommend Fabrique Bakery - the £3.39 bag contained a single sourdough loaf (?600g size) and a bread roll. That was it.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
