I had my first Morrisons one last week, very pleased with it - 3 apples, big pack of grapes, spring onions, beetroot, bag of mixed salad leaved, rice noodles, 6 finger rolls, a mini baguette, and a pack of mint leaves - the mint leaves are the only thing I won't use,so it was well worth the £3
I also tried one from my local Costa, hoping for left-over cakes etc which I could freeze. I got 3 bacon breakfast rolls and a sausage one - being a veggie, I didn't have much use for them 🤣- my OH enjoyed them though. Will stick to supermarkets in future!1 -
Costa is often disappointing unless you are on the go. If they know you most of the staff are obliging when you tell them you are vegetarian - but you could end up with the boring cheese and white bread sandwich, which is definitely not worth £1 out of £3.Hopeless_Case said:I had my first Morrisons one last week, very pleased with it - 3 apples, big pack of grapes, spring onions, beetroot, bag of mixed salad leaved, rice noodles, 6 finger rolls, a mini baguette, and a pack of mint leaves - the mint leaves are the only thing I won't use,so it was well worth the £3

Have avoided TGTG this week, I ended up throwing a load of stuff out that I couldn't use or give away the other day

So am concentrating on using what I have, and reducing the content in my freezer. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Finally got a cake bag from Coffee#1 (they always seemed to cancel at the last minute due to no-stock). Got about 5 different cakes, plus 4 Welsh cakes for about £3. Very happy with that.
I've decided the best bags are shops with a specific food-type (eg. sandwiches, pizza, noodles, cakes etc) rather than the supermarkets, as you at least have an idea of what you're going to get. I mean, I can try and use 3 packs of coriander and a fennel bulb. But, I'd rather not have to work entire meals around a random selection, when I can visit the yellow-sticker section and get only what I know I will use.5 -
DH went for another M&S TGTG this evening. £5 got us £25.55 of groceries.
I do like their prawn sandwich. We had one slice each, very tasty.

Yes, M&S aren't kidding when they describe their prawn sandwiches as the 'best'. It always used to be our special treat at a service station when we were on a particular long-distance journey. Unfortunately a move and the lack of a local M&S means I haven't had one in ages now.Nelliegrace said:DH went for another M&S TGTG this evening. £5 got us £25.55 of groceries.

Wenzels has introduced veggie Magic Bags. Can't wait to try, but appreciate its not going to be a healthy bag

I bought from Aldi in Chelmsford last night and ended up giving most of it away - 4 meat meals within. I theoretically did still get value for money, but not as much as had there been 4 veggie meals plus the other bits!
