Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling overwhelmed, either by illness or January - healing vibes to those that need them. School back in full on swing, '20 new things by 8 am tomorrow please!' Just wondering how soon I can retire 😂
I have managed to do some admin tasks (or at least start them) I've been working up to. As well as dailies and getting myself and 8yo to the right place, at the right time, with the right stuff. That's OK for Jan I think.11 -
- first day back at uni; no lft available so messaged Mr N to order some online. Lovely girl to assess.
- went to Mr A on the way home and stocked up. Mr N had previously said (at the weekend) that he'd eaten so many mince pies he'd almost had enough. However, they were all 9p per box of 6 so I got 2 more boxes. Plus some 75% off kale and 30% off salad.
- tried recipe from Christmas present recipe book; bean chilli bake. Lovely.
- finished and emailed Monday's assessment report; must be some sort of record. Determined to keep up this efficiency.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -

Pigpen, here are my thoughts on your situation with DD. I would make sure her partner knows that you know. Not in an aggressive, accusing way but perhaps along the lines of how fragile she is and seems to bruise so easily at the moment, maybe suggest that you want him to keep an eye on her as you are concerned it might be a medical issue. Tell him you're relying on him to keep her safe. You asked for opinions so you got it.
Morning all, another cold start today but hoping it will be a little bit less grey than yesterday.
Bed made, clothes picked up, rooms aired
Banking and spreadsheets done
Lunch made for OH
WM on
More sorting to be done. Kitchen is so nearly done, I really need to make the effort to do the last surface and get the spices off the top of the mantlepiece. Dining room just needs me to put a few things away, I know what it should be like, I took a photo just after it was redecorated and use that to reset it. Living room isn't too bad, there's really only the 2 table in the library end to tackle. I've been dot to dotting and am seeing the progress but not quite finishing anywhere.
Hugs, spoons and gws wiishes.12 -
Good morning!
Sticks for BDs chucked in Natty's & asb's direction. GWS wishes sent as appropriate.
Re the Government - I despair! I fear he is made of teflon & nothing sticks!! I had tears in my eyes watching a report about families that lost loved ones while that 'party' was happening. I can't write to my MP because we don't have one!!
Paid stuff today. WM & DW are on. Stuff sloshed in the upstairs loo - I will sort that later. Waiting for little people to arrive.
Dog went to the groomers yesterday & looks much better. I think he feels better too as he is isn't 'plodding' about now. He was all tail wags when I brought him home!
Door bell......
And again....
And again....
Ok - 3 smalls here to play!
Have a good day everyone!11 -
Morning all xx
Googled DKA - hope Boog is on the mend piggers xx I think it's a sign of how things are at work: my first thought was DKA? Oh, Don't Kill Anyone! But that didn't fit the rest of your sentence.
My planned trips out to the dentist's and the posh farm cafe having been successfully completed I'm now looking forward to 5 days cabinned in chez Round. Bliss. I was about to say that the furthest I'm going is to the gate to bring in the bins....but I may bite the bullet and take a couple of bags to the cs at some point....oh, and I'll need petrol for next week's commuting. Hmmmm 2 birds, 1 stone, perhaps.
I'm up, made my bed, opened the windows upstairs and supped my first brew.
To Do Today List:
Brew 2 and breakfast
Get dressed
Feed the birds
Bring in bins
Put out recycling
WUDUPA
Write a list of frogs 🐸 - there are lots but I forget them until they jump out and croak. Iyswim. It'll be pen and paper but I can still reward myself with green ticks. 🙂
Find homes for the last bag of Christmas presents.
Parcel delivery expected: foot measuring device ordered so I can buy the correct size shoes. My left foot having decided that size 7 is no longer desirable.... that's a 🐸 I've finally swallowed.
Love to all

Good Morning all
Thanks for the sticks for the BD. As seems to be the case nowadays, I struggled to get up, but once I was up I bounced into action for an hour. Now I have a cuppa and some biccies.
Small people away to school, chickens fed etc (thank you for asking about their avian flu lockdown, they are doing okay inside but the amount of cleaning out I have to do is just bonkers, they normally free range all over the place so all the poo isn't inside!), WM on and dry washing FUPA. WULTD.
I have also started two bags - one of things to be rehomed to my mums, and one for the CS. My mum declutters a lot of her stuff here, and due to her MH issues I just accept. I dread the day I have to sort her belongings out as the house is packed to the rafters despite said decluttering. She is a very emotional spender but doesn't have the money to do it, so has the debt to accompany it. Maybe this is part of why I have gone so far the other way in terms of a simple life and frugality? A thought for later....
But now my own house is overrun with stuff that I don't really want or need. So I have texted her very politely asking if she wants X/Y/Z back, or shall I CS? Waiting for a response. A few bits in the CS bag that the children received for Christmas - stuff that is not age appropriate at all. They are 7&9 not 3&4!
Sending hugs to all, especially Natty and Piggers
Have fab days all xx

Thank you all for thoughts on DD. I have decided to go give him a ‘polite’ earful when I am free to go to their house next week. He is not looking after her and I am really worried about her long term mental health as well as her short term mental and physical health. It is not doing the children any good either.Boog is moved to a ward with a tall skinny droid friend who is bit of a drip lol

More things gone or in the charity box. Still not got a solution for the spices, they are starting to annoy me. They might end up in a plastic box in the cupboard. Last surface cleared except for the bag of potatoes, not really sure where to keep them, I might need to have another sort through the cupboards to make more space.
TD now on
Post dealt with and filed or binned
Hair cut booked for tomorrow
Progress is slow, but better is good
