You're going down like ninepins in the Pigpen household, aren't you? *Speedy healing vibes* all round.Yesterday and today's 5 Minute Fly was dusting. I thought the house wasn't too bad until I started. Still, the glasses shelves have been done for the first time in I don't know how long, various picture frames skimmed and a clock that hasn't worked for years has a newly recharged battery in it and is ticking away quite happily. All in all, an improvement. The filing tray has been cleared for the first time in months and a couple of files filleted, so those spaces are a lot better. It doesn't matter if this new year new leaf doesn't last long. While it's ongoing the house is improving and I'm not running myself ragged. I count both of those as wins. I was so overtired by the end of all of the festivities that I decided that nothing was that urgent any more and could wait. That's been quite helpful. The weather's improved at long last and it's not due to rain for a few days so I'll bung a load of bedding on and start working my way through Mount Washmore. It's doing a fine impression of Mount Everest.Better is good enough.8

Good afternoon 😁
I'm sorry I am late 😔 thank you ladies for the lists 😘
Hugs to those that need them, esp Natty Plague-be-gone vibes to the Pigpen house
Yesterday was mainly spent online car shopping! DS has decided to get a nearly-new car now, as it looks like a 4-6 month wait for a new one! The search for a 'runaround' to do for now was getting silly, and DS was expecting DH to insure it, as well as his own car! DS's new car is being delivered Monday 😁 Meanwhile, he has to get the train to work (not a straightforward journey, hence the need for a car!). DH is picking him up after work (30 mile round trip!) Why he can't get the train home as well I don't know, but at least there are 4 days left!!
In the meantime I may have accidentally bought DH a new car!! 😱 His needs replacing, and I don't think it will get through another MOT (due next month). It's on 196,000 miles!! He is a happy bunny!
To add to the car saga, mine was serviced yesterday at the main dealer but needed a new tyre (mine had a split & was illegal! 😱), but they didn't have it in stock, so I am still waiting....
Flying wise, I have put on the WM & TD! I am trying to sort through a box of 'stuff', mainly papers, notebooks, etc. I am trying to deal with each piece & file/bin/recycle as necessary. It is slow progress, but progress all the same. Better is good! On the plus side I have found my ear buds 😁 I knew i had put them in a safe place!! 😂😂
I have managed to cross a few car-related things from the list though 😅
I still have lots of Christmas chocolate to get rid of 😕 I went to SW last night and have put on 4.5lbs!! (in 3 weeks, over Christmas, including isolation). I am no longer at target, so need to lose 1.5 lbs or I will have to pay!! I will hide the chocolate.....😂
Hugs, sticks & spoons to those that need them.9 -
GI couldn't agree more, Better is good.
Masks away and fireplace/barbecue in the kitchen cleared out and tidied. Definitely better.
WM on again, TD going too.
Had a walk with OH straight after lunch which we both concluded was very nice. It was a habit we got into during the first lockdown but sadly haven't been able to continue once he went back into the office most of the time. Evening walks are only possible in the summer.
Tea and cake just finished, we're off to talk to the estate agents this evening.

Well, I've not had very much sleep at all, so am grumpy and gritty eyed. Every idiot and his mate rang me, rang the doorbell, shouted over the driveway gate which made the dogs bark and made unscheduled deliveries this morning and so I've only managed a small amount of unsatisfactory snoozing. And I'm scheduled to work again tonight and tomorrow night !!!!!!.
Zero flying done. Sorry, not sorry.
Grumble, grumble, mutter, moan...
Sorry to hear you're all catching Covid Piggers - hope it's not too bad and porkies recover well.
Stupid YouTuber is blaring innane football drivel from the lounge TV...THAT NOBODY IS WATCHING! Honestly, I'm not in the mood.10 -
And now Pixie has tested positive.. 6 down..DS2.. still sleeping, this is not a good sign.. test waiting!, Boog (tested -ve today!) and Moomin (in hiding at her boyfriends)and Meem (-ve today) who had it in July so might avoid it this time round.
NO SCHOOL RUNS!!!!! WOOT!!!
OH at work so I have to do menial things like dinner..

Conscience card pile cleared at last. Anyone else have a pile of cards on their desks that need to be written to say variations of congratulations / commiserations and thank you that just sit there glowering at you malevolently?

Hi all
Thanks Fayolle and ASB. So DS diligently did the rest of his prep for the colonoscopy, which was really unpleasant. LFT an hour before we set off to hospital - which was positive. No symptoms at all. You couldnt make it up, he went through all that for nothing. I am gutted because I was hoping for some answers about why he is losing weight and is so tired. Re-booked for 24th Jan so we will try again.
DH has also been to the docs and has got more pain relief, thankfully we are both Covid free so far but I am almost beyond caring.
Hope everyone in the Pigpen household is OK. DS has done his special home PCR test which gets him one of the Covid treatments, best to be on the safe side even if he doesnt have symptoms at the moment. He can always say no when they offer it.
Our bedding changed, washing over airer, hoovered downstairs, LR dusted, fire cleaned out and lit. Feet up now, in the office again tomorrow if I am still negative.

Oh YL what a saga, I am so sorry to hear that. Sending you hugs x
Dizzy - please, please take care. Turn your phone off. Stick ear plugs in. You cannot do all these night shifts without some decent kip in the daytime xx
So the WM is on again... both kids came home not just with swimming kits but filthy uniforms and trainers due to lots of outside footie playing today. Neither has clean uniform for tomorrow so need to play catch up. Touch screen on phone isn’t working which is very unhelpful.
Anyone else just feel permanently wiped out at the moment? I go to bed tired and wake up even more tired. I need more light and warmth, roll on spring.
