Always sad to see any animal go. Really hard.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -
New shower cubicle sounds good.

Just catching up and saying hi
Lots of useful info on working from home! I really need to sort out a desk space in our third bedroom. I’m sure it will make me more efficient and limit the number of times DH will pop in to ask me something as it’s on the third floor. My problem is I’m working when someone else is looking after DD so often when DH gets home from work but I get constantly interrupted ☹️Wishing you all the best of luck for Tuesday. The anxiety is just awful xxxMFW diary Adventures and Overpayments

Thanks @Watty1 and @savingholmes. Lol was not quite what I said!
Plumbers haven't messed about. I've got a load of washing done, finished a book (Look who's back by Timur Vermes) and maybe found another aga.
Dogs are horrified that they've been banished from the sitting room (to stop them mobbing the plumbers).
Might catch up with The Apprentice and begin the new half series of Ozark this evening.
No £ spent by me but £20 on diesel for DH.7 -
Hi Al - how was the book? I saw it in the charity shop but am really trying not to buy more!
Home working - I'd also say just to log your hours - nothing strenuous but maybe in your work diary jot down your start and finish time and breaks each day. Then if you say do an hour extra at the top of the next day you can put +1 so you know where you're up to - just so you're tracking your total hours.
thinking of you for Tuesday. We're going through similar here for a close family member but no date as yet x It is very difficult not being able to attend the appointments. I am also not thinking about it as far as possible.1st May 2025

The book was mildly amusing and of course, shocking. DH found it funnier (because he is more easily amused by shock or maybe because his history is better!).
I think "not thinking about it" is a good strategy. xxx9 -
Morning. Plumbers back, good as their word. Dogs banished again.
DH has gone for his pre op Covid swab.
I'm about to drive a 90 mile round trip to get DD2 her second Covid jab. A little supermarket visit.
I am making DD1 (away at uni) a rainbow hamper for her birthday. Just need a tube of pringles.
I might be on the scent of an aga.
Have a great day!7 -

90 miles for a Covid jab?! That's country living for you Al.We have a corporate spreadsheet for home working and flexi that everybody completes and adds to the electronic team storage area. It works perfectly, is very straightforward and was a joy to use until Micromanager McGhee decided that we had to do so daily. Aye, because knowing my hours once a week versus four times a week makes any difference to anyone
I am being mildly amused by the Aga saga, they seem to be such a staple of country life. My parents have a Rayburn (which I have just discovered is an Aga of sorts). It comes with a handy warming drawer that crofters use for lambing!6
