Thanks Watty. Sounds like great advice.
I gassed myself cleaning the bathroom with Milton (the shower cubicle) so it isn't digusting tomorrow.

Only in my head. The actual work has yet to be done. I should probably buy some curtains.savingholmes said:Glad you have your office sorted
The only down side is that the new office is the old breakfast room of the guest suite so no more airbnb. That said I closed it when I heard about Covid in 2020 and who knows when we'll have seen the last of the new-variant dramas?
Piggies out for socialising this evening. We have two babies and one senior. The babies are a little timid but making progress.
Still not quite right after gassing myself.
Looking forward to having our bathroom back to fully functional at some indeterminate time. Sunday, maybe?
I am dreading, frankly, DH's operation on Tuesday. Trying not to think about it.7 -
Hugs about DH's operation. It's horrible going through stuff like that ourselves - but it is hard to watch those we love too. Hope all goes smoothly.
I haven't bothered with curtains so far as I'm enjoying the views of the garden and the doors / angle is far enough away that it hasn't been a problem so far. I only set up my office around the end of November though - so not sure how it will be mid summer.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I think people are better at grasping the concept of working from home after the last couple of years. I always found this infuriating. Also delivery drivers/random door knockers who KEEP knocking/ringing even though you're clearly not answering. The delivery thing is particularly irritating when things don't need signing for.Watty1 said:Just catching up. Have home office. Dedicate space, have a larger desk than you think you will need (mine is two cheap Ikea tables and a return made from an old worktop. Have a special chair and leave everything set up. Also be firm with interruptions. I remember moaning to a friend that people just "call in" because "i work from home" and she said simply ask them if they would pop into your office in town. That focused my mind on work time v down time. I still welcome the drop ins now but am better at saying I'm working.
Don't overdo the cleaning @Alchemilla. Everything crossed for DH's op.

Are you doing breathing exercises to calm your state or anything like that? 2023: the year I get to buy a car6 -

The boys are back in town.
Well, they're in my bathroom replacing the shower cubicle anyway.
Today I need to empty the fishtank and put it up for sale. I've not rushed into it since the fish died in July. I'm very sad about the fish, they were followed by two of our senior guinea pigs. 2021 was not cool.6
